Why not give the new version of FireFox a spin its only a beta version

Download it here

Ok here is something strange when you enter subsim using IE8 the advert France
Now accepting captains is complete and has a blue border around it.
When using FireFox the advert only half loads and no blue border :hmmm:

Can't remember who the original quote was from but:

I haven't had any problem with IE8. I also use Avast too.

Today I logged on using FF and I did not receive the warning. Prior to visiting this site I had to install the Windows Media Player in order to listen to Howard Stern on Sirius. I wonder if that was the plug-in I was being nagged to install?

For several days I have been unable to post on Subsim with IE9 Beta. My input window font has changed for some reason, and every post I try to submit says I must input at least three characters, even though I would type in several sentences. I am able to post using Firefox, so I have both browsers in use depending on which forums I wish to post to. I do find FF easier for forum activities. IE9 Beta has changed the position of my favourites to the right side of the page and as far as I can see, has no option to relocate it to the left side. What a stupid decision on MS's part; at least they could allow the user the option of its placement, but that's Microsoft's way of doing things: "Where would you like to go today, if we allow you to do so?"

Something strange is going on. Now I get a warning, supposedly from Google Advisor, when I visit Subsim with Firefox. And now, I can view Subsim using IE9 beta.

Same here. Below is an image of the warning. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...es/warning.png

That kind of message is appearing also to me not only on subsim forum but also on Oblivion Mod page and Empire at War mod page, i must say that this google advisor is getting more annoying than a virus!!!!!!

Guys, you have no idea how your posting of those images reassures me, that I am not some paranoid kook with a unique problem. I was beginning to think that I was becoming some kind of crank.

Captain J. Borne 10-18-10 08:23 PM

Thats because some people you pissed off all got together and "reported" the page, or microsoft i.e crashed so many times on the site it was auto reported, depending on the OS your using.

I use opera. By far the coolest and funnest browser I have discovered. (And I have never had these issues with this site)

HW3 10-19-10 01:03 AM

This is what you see when you click to find out why it is being reported as an attack site.

Same problem here what hans uberman and HW3 showed.

I am using firefox.

papa_smurf 10-19-10 07:00 AM

Im on Firefox(Beta6), and had to adjust my security settings to let me in.

Herr-Berbunch 10-19-10 07:25 AM

I've just added my two-penneth in the previous thread (Java probs in Comments to SubSim).

The other week when these issues first reared their ugly head I only got one trojan alert and that was after almost a week of other people reporting problems, then today I got the lovely red square that other people reported and are pictured above and the same links to Google's security sites.

I too use Firefox, both 3.6.10 and 4 beta 6, but I stopped using beta 6 after the initial warnings as I use McAfee SiteAdvisor which isn't compatible yet for the beta, and the other day I couldn't get any page with beta 6 at all!

Ho, hum! I'm off to thoroughly scan now :nope:

Edit: Scans using McAfee, SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes all came back clean, as expected!

the.terrabyte.pirate 10-19-10 05:37 PM

I'm getting the warning message in both Firefox and Chrome.

I hope this is fixed soon.
