Type XI U-Kreuzer

Type XI U-Kreuzer, formally hull of a Type IXD2, 15 inch guns again another piece of stock from SH3, barrels moddified slightly and turret is the 15 inch gun turret but with a duplicated turret stuck on the back.

For comparison i've added the Bismarck and a Type IXD2 (what the Type XI looked like before I applied my skills to it) the pink button looking thing on the top of the hull is the hatch for thr collapsable Arado Ar 231 floatplane.

Not bad for someone whose been working on this since monday and who only first started moddeling 3 months ago.

Hi Kapitän Schneider,

Really not a bad job!:yeah:
Forward to continuing, especially the types X and XIV.
In my opinion they are more practical for games!

Dam your right, just looked at some of the schematics i've got, and on closer inspection the Type XXVI IS smaller than the Type XXI. I'll take your word about the Type XXIV, got very little information about it. :haha:

As I said, Type XXIV is basically a Type XVIII with additional 6 side tubes (and 10 reloads). Quite similar to XXI B or C, but with the Type XVIIIs Walter turbine powerplant instead of the large batteries and electric motors of the XXI. I don't have any plans for it.
Concerning XVIII oder XXVI, I have lots of plans and technical data.

I recommend this: http://www.amazon.com/Die-grossen-Wa...tt_at_ep_dpi_9

Is that a statement or a request about the technical drawings and photos Kurfürst? Tomw95 is currently interested in making the Milk Cow playable, and is making effort to do so.

Hi Kapitän Schneider,

I´ve got quite a few pictures of Milkcows in action plus some "raw" technical drawings. I thougth the drawings are of a better quality than they actually are, but they´re scaled and have the realistic proportions, so they might be useful.
Please send me your email address via PM so that I can forward the pictures and drawings.

Best regards, Kurfürst:salute:

Who wants to play with my Biber?

http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/t.../BiberBaby.png

Texturing this model has been troublesome, possibly because its my first time texturing, but I think I have done well with the shark teeth and eyes.

Anyone who would like to try their hand at texturing this send me a PM.

Updated first post with 3d rendered pictures of the Neger, Marder and Hai human torpedoes.

Hitman 12-04-10 03:02 AM

Quite impressive for someone who started modelling only some weeks ago :o

Kapitän Schneider 02-23-11 08:28 PM

Ok folks its been a while since I gave you all an update.

The Neger, Marder and Hai human torpedoes are all moddeled and awaiting skins. Next step is implementing them ingame.

The Biber has nearly finished its moddeling process and also awaits a skin.

The Type XB Minelayer is about 50% complete. Still deciding on what Turms and Flak should be used on it.

The Type XIV Milk Cow is currently suspended for the time being. Waiting on certain information at the moment.

Finally the Type XI U-Cruiser. Hull is more or less finished. The twin 12 inch guns are moddeled. Hard part is moddeling its Turm which is bigger than the standard ones, and the fact that it was never built, means there are no pictures of it and very few technical drawings to go on.

As for the others I have not laid their keel's yet ;)

Missing Name 02-23-11 10:57 PM

Why didn't I see this before? It's awesome!

I'm waiting for that Type XI...

kurfürst 02-24-11 10:03 AM

Hi Kptn. Schneider,

good to read that you´re making progress with your mod!
What I´ve seen so far looks really great :yeah:

As for the type XB, I personally would like to have a tower variant like
U-234, equipped as a long-range Uboat with a Snorkel.

But that´s just my opinion.

Anyway, keep on with your great work and let me know if can do anything for you.

Cheers, Kurfürst:salute:

12 torpedo tubes :o thats going to take some work. Have to ask around if 12 tubes can be implemented ingame.

I was going to add some of the more exotic and advanced subs that I have discovered to the ever growing list I've got. Think I will add the Type XXX to that list.

Kapitän Schneider 09-30-11 04:18 PM

Sorry folks that it's been 7 months since a last update. Been busy learning modeling techniques and creating aircraft for another game. Also I blame Minecraft for taking several hundred hours of precious modding time away from me.

Anyway i've decided to completely do over the Type XI U-Cruiser from scratch. Converting it from a Type IX didn't achieve the results I was hoping for. Have to do the rudders, diving planes, screws and then the Turm which will be the real hard work as it was never built.

So here's a screenshot, as I know you all love to see screenshots of WIP's even if its a cylinder, a cube and a blueprint of a U-Boat drawn in crayon.

http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/t...peXIProper.png

As for the other WIP's they are on hold for the moment at least until the Type XI is being textured and coded.

The Neger, Marder and Hai need a little model tweeking.

The Biber has had some serious faults with it due to using it as a bitch testing model, so it needs another going over with my virtual blowtorch and hammer.

The Type XIV Milk Cow is on hold until Type XI is released.
If I can get the U-Cruiser playable, then it should be a hell of alot easier to get a giant playable floating AA battery, that does nothing but sit out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean acting as target practice for any Allied ship or plane that happens to come into the vicinity. Which actually sounds like alot of fun now that I come to think about it!

Lipud U-107 10-01-11 05:27 AM

Kapitän Schneider am thin is very good job

Alex 10-10-11 04:23 AM

The aft now looks sweet, you've done a very cool work overall, my friend. ;)

What a long boat it would have been. :D

Alpha Von Burg 03-06-12 08:15 AM

Forgive me if I have brought an old thread back to the light

I just discovered this thread and I was astonished by this project to add new models and possible new playable models to the game. I can't wait to try out some of your proposals.

But if I can, I'd like to add a u-boat to your list, if you have the time. The type XVIII Walter boat. It's hull design was used for the Type XXI so modeling it shouldn't be a problem. There are just some characteristics that make this boat formidable, for one its under water speed of up to 24 knots. More information and technical details can be found at uboat.net and many other site. I'm not insistent on this but perhaps you could consider it as a later project.

Regardless of whether you accept my request or not, I am looking forward to your progress.

Kapitän Schneider 03-07-12 05:55 AM

Ah yes the Type XVIII. Basically a slightly larger Type XXI with enlarged battery capacity. It's on my extended list, should really update my first post. Have to really finish and release my other subs first before I get to this one. If I ever do finish them :haha:
