Not to get to technical but there is no such thing as a 'lightning resistor' and they dont 'divert' bolts rather the system is supposed to provide a safe path to ground for a strike as opposed to the structural elements of a building.

One thing is certain about lightning protection systems if nature can find a fault in the system she will ;)

I design LP systems as a professional so if you really want to know about them I'm the guy to ask.

ps; Did you know that lightning actually travels from the ground up to the cloud and not the other way around :know:
