Take 2 torpedoes, unmount the warheads, and tie them to each side of the uboat.
Set speed as low as possible, and fire them up, provided the sea is calm. :D

Nice idea btw, only if someone willing to fastrope and circle around a big assed hull, just to tie a taller, fatter, heavier torpedo, while of course others are holding it at hand ;)

Another idea I had in mind, was to put all men on surface, each tied with a rope as a harness to the (CON)ning tower, and pat the waters with their legs :yeah:

and while they're doing so, they could all chant ''It's a long way, to Tipperary, it's a long way to goooo'' :har::har::har:

There was a US sub in the early 30s, I think, which engines died, and the crew rigged a sail and they made it back.

Get the Cheng to rig up some paddles,
Get the Bosun to rig up a whip

Line the crew on deck in a Greek galley type arrangement, and have them start rowing
