Sorry to say it but this patch is a joke... The first thing I did was pressing the "Depth Under Keel" readout. What I got in return was:

"...unddreißig, sieben...":o:o:o

Germans say "seven and thirty" - in this order so it should be "siebenunddreißig" but i guess someone that was doing the translation didn't know the language... or he/she did but the patch was not tested AT ALL... (obviously the audio is played accordingly to the ENGLISH pattern)...

Pathetic...

oscar19681 05-11-10 11:57 AM

Maybe what they need to give us in 2 months is a patch for the patch?:har:

No, haven't seen anything in this patch that hasn't been Modded better.
Just checked My Recognition Manual Mod, and now I need to create a fix to fix the fix they fixed :har:.

oscar19681 05-11-10 12:01 PM

I didnt expect the patch to be what it promissed to be , but the feedback is catastophical. Are there any possitive worth mentioning as it is now?

trotter 05-11-10 12:05 PM

So. Is there any way we can NOT install the patch? I'd rather just keep playing with mods, thank you very much, than submit to this "patch" that really just did a poorer job of fixing ONLY SOME of the issues that were fixed in my game already.

Seems like Ubi just picked what items we be the easiest on their end to fix, and did a poor job of fixing even those.

I really can't smile at this... I hope all these """""programmers""""""" will be fired!! Go to till the soil !!

subdragoon 05-11-10 12:11 PM

does ANYTHING work that was mentioned in the changelog? i see ships are still running into eachother, clocks dont work, fps are the same, depth under keel doesn't work right, stadimeter still broken. did anything they promise get changed?

copper01 05-11-10 12:11 PM

Well it seems the mods I have wont work:wah: Wish I would have left it as it was, this really sucks. Now do I have to uninstall game to go back to old patch? :salute:

Stronghold 05-11-10 12:12 PM

After all this "positive" feedback I won't even bother to download that so called "patch". RIP SH5! By the way, it's time to play a game, a playable one, SH3 GWX 3.0 in multiplayer ...

oscar19681 05-11-10 12:13 PM

what about the missing features?

•Shadow optimizations
•Fixed very slow eye light adaptation after a lost device (alt-tab)

•Crewmen on deck change clothes during bad weather
•SH4 ships can now be imported (useful for modders).
•Improvements in the reward system for U-boats in the dynamic campaign
•Improvements to the AI
•Changes to accommodate RU localization will therefore be present in patch 1.2, but will not affect players in a visible form.

"Guys I never gave a precise time for release so nothing is late http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies...miley-wink.gif

On another note, I've looked into the concerns over the list. Apparently nothing has been removed so it’s just the list I was given was not as comprehensive as the one you were given by Gabe "

If nothing was removed why did they include the "incomplete" patch list in the readme file?

After seeing the rising levels of excitement and anticipation of the last days I was pretty damn sure you're in for a cold shower. But it's the same excitement and anticipation that made you buy an unfinished product in the first place so don't complain.

I hope to see some positive reviews in here. SH is a great series and I look forward to buying SH5 someday, after a few more patches.

Anyone here STILL wanna defend the devs? I think it is glaringly obvious why the game was shipped in the condition it was...complete incompetence. :nope:

You can't blame the 'suits' on this one, folks. :nope:

It would be sad if it wasn't so freakin' hilarious! (or would it be hilarious if it wasn't so freakin' sad....?)

honestly, to listen to some of you guys you'd think this game was a steaming pile of poo.

All I can say is you're in a very different world than me - I've been roaming around the SH5 world for several hours, out in mid ocean looking for tonnage to sink both in daylight and at night, and through the more detailed coastal waters around Kiel. The graphics are truly stunning, and the game is perfectly capable of providing an enjoyable cat-and-mouse game with merchant ships protected by the odd warship. So the recognition manual not having mast heights might be "dumb" but that shouldn't be presented as if the firm is corrupt and the dev team are morons.

I guess it's a positive thing you guys feel passionate about the sim, and thanks for those that contribute with really great add-ons.
