It's instresting to see if this DRM crap with SH5 and AC2 affects the sales of future ubi titles. I think Settlers 7 is next one to be released on 23rd .... I know that I'm not buying that (or any other UBI game )due to this mess with DRM. Otherwise that would have been on my shopping list... :down:

See, it doesnt matter.. :har:
[Intelligent-Rant WARNING! Individuals lacking Common Sense are advised to move on.]
The thing about DRM and the corporations who use them / make them, is that they disregard any common sense or remotely sensible logical conclusion.
Its alot like trying to explain string theory to a retarded 4 year old, string theory being why DRM is useless and affects sales, and the retarded 4 year old being Ubisoft. :88)
If Settlers 7 turns out to be an amazing game that sells poorly, they arent going to realize that its because of the DRM. OH NO that could NEVER be the case. Their highly paid, highly educated (in economics, not in anything remotely connected to games) analysts will tell their CEO that the loss in sales was due to this mysterious dark cloud called Piracy that they heard about on Fox News last night, and that only an even more powerful DRM could help bump up sales again.
And an even more simple reason such as, the game simply sucking, is even more inconcievable to boffins like that. They are so far away from understanding games that they dont even comprehend the idea that a game could be good or NOT good, hence resulting in good or bad sales.
The only thing they understand is sales figures, a twisted view on piracy and DRM.
Low sales = need moar DRM :rock:
High sales = ppl accept this DRM! moar DRM! :rock:
Its a futile effort. It cant improve. :nope:
And of course Silent Hunter V, the game we all are raging about in this thread because we honestly paid for it, and still cant play it, sold rather well. Even with this DRM, which is preventing us from playing the game we (again) paid full price for. (lets repeat that as many times as it takes, until it fully sinks in how friggin illegal it is) The game we paid for, which we are locked out from.
So since it sold well (look at the steam top sellers list), those same boffins will make this connection;
Silent Hunter V + Ultra DRM = Lots of sales! MOAR DRM = bettar games = more sales!! :yeah::yeah:
Would you buy a car if it had an electronic doorlock that randomly turned on, regardless if you were in the car or not? Plus an ejection seat that ejected you randomly whenever your 3G connection was dropped?
Well, would you? See, its the same thing. And i got the DRM companies support in this comparison! :D
Anti-piracy ads compare stealing a car to downloading a game, so i will too.
