You'd know, wouldn't you? ;)

Wouldn't surprise me. BF:BC 2 already is, and it's not even in stores yet.

Capt.Warner 03-01-10 04:39 PM

Wouldn't surprise me if Silent Hunter V is cracked already either.:nope::shifty:

Look over at my nickname and see when I joined and how many post I have.
Don't think Neal believes that I'm a real game pirate.

Well after looking in a mirror I do have a beard,if that counts. ( :DL ) But alas I do not have the knowledge to screw up a computer game, nor do I want to.

But it does show you were grasping for straws for an answer.

Guys, its not.... Anyone on the net can find a list of games cracked, even in the last few seconds. there is sites dedicated to feeding releases. Its not there.

Remember ROF never got cracked. It never did......

Ya that's not a cracked game, its a cracked account pretty obvious with the billions of tons sunk. He didn't even play the game, just ****ed around with an account.

Still the whole "Leader Board" thing is a fraggin farce if you ask me and really has not place in a game like this... what about mods? Duhrrr...

Then they hack them to boot... laughable.

Thanks for the 'service' Uplay...

CCIP 03-01-10 06:47 PM

Yeah, for all it's worth, while the DRM side of it doesn't bother me, the "online features" are pretty laughable. You can tell that the game wasn't even designed with them in mind and it was tacked on at publisher's insistence. It's not to say that there is no good way to use things like this, but right now the "features" are as good as not being there at all.

Heretic 03-01-10 06:55 PM

What 'services' there are geared towards the bigger games. They probably didn't think SH5 was big enough to bother with - other then as guinea pig, of course..

Some of the 'cracked' accounts could be UBI techs testing various techniques and counter measures.

Here is an important observation for you:

Just installed the game on my other PC, from the same DVD. I took five seconds between quitting game on one PC and starting it on the other - no complaints from Ubi. Save games were synchronized. Then I went and disabled the server-side save games and tried again - worked as advertised, only my older saves were shared.

All in all, that aspect is at least working as promised. You can indeed install on multiple machines and log in without issues.

Any ideas on if the lan play allows multiple computers running from the same disc/key or will we need to buy a separate copy for each computer? I've been spoiled by games like Supreme Commander that don't care as long as it's lan play.

CCIP 03-01-10 09:15 PM

I don't think it's possible to start the game without a ubi login, so I suspect that'd be a no, at least for the moment.

Yeah. Even mentioning the 'C' word is a big no-no.

SUBSIM Review has a longstanding policy against software piracy. We do NOT allow discussion or even mention of warez, abandonware, peer-to-peer game swapping, illegal download sites, or rip-off websites. Nothing will get you banned faster than pointing people to illegal software distribution sites. Don't ask for serial numbers, manuals, or cracks. Any admission that you have in your possession illegal software can and usually will result in revocation of your Radio Room forum account. Support computer game programmers buy legally purchasing their work. They have to eat too, you know.

My russian is a bit rusty ... but still :yep:

ddrgn 03-02-10 11:08 AM

As of now there is no cracked copy. There is a good chance that this game will not get cracked. And if it does it wont be for some time:

Here is an interview with a UBI spokesperson

http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/53...tion-Interview

Note this part:

Do Ubi believe this DRM is unhackable?
They accept that it's all DRM's fate to be eventually hacked, explaining that internally, they've already talked of a timescale for how long their games will be protected by it. But, they believe that it's secure enough for them. "We wouldn't do it if we didn't believe in it. The guys who designed it believe in it. Do we think that it's the one system that God has sent onto earth that will never be cracked by anybody ever? We can't guarantee that, but we believe in it."

OakGroove 03-02-10 11:26 AM

Rise of Flight had the "benefit" of being an unpopular title. Same goes for Steel Beasts Pro - afaik there's no public crack to date.
Assassins Creed 2 is a whole different story - there is some considerable request. And it uses the same DRM scheme as SH5.
