It would nice to have a german forum for people like me that are not so familiar with the english language.
Otherwise i like to see all nations discussing and working together in this great forum.
Hmmm. Very hard decission.:06:

urfisch 02-26-10 08:53 AM

ich habe für ja gestimmt und würde mich auch als moderator anbieten...

i voted yes, and i volunteer to be a moderator...

good idea so far...thank you neal. we have a lot of german people here. especially now as the german subsection of sh5 at ubi is monitored with eagles eyes, looking for the next guy to be banned...i guess many would love to come here! where it is warm and nice...

;)

Neal! Arrgh!

You HAVE to have a 'I'm not a German speaker' option.

At best you get a load of irrelevant answers both ways. At worse all the
non-German speakers will all vote for the same option and distort the poll.

derblaueClaus 02-26-10 09:15 AM

Voted yes. I hope the quality of the englishspeaking-part is transferable to a germanspeaking-part. ;) If you take a look at the ubi.de-Forums its sometimes just horrorbile to read what is postet there.:shifty:

PhantomLord 02-26-10 09:22 AM

If this german section is going to happen... count me in as a mod. I voted "yes" only...

Alex, what about a French forum?

Na, we're probably not enough. :hmmm:

Hmm, why not, after all.
But the only french members that I know currently (Kapitan_Zur_See and Mikhayl) are both more fluent in english than I am, ROFLMAO. :D

I don't think Subsim needs a french forum actually, as our community on the site is still a minority. ;)

mookiemookie 02-26-10 09:50 AM

I don't speak German, but I voted yes. Because really, why not? I don't think it will splinter our community as much as it will bring new blood in.

frau kaleun 02-26-10 09:50 AM

I voted yes, because it might motivate me to start studying the language for realz. :DL

Edit: TBH I was sort of surprised when I first came here that there wasn't a German language forum already.

C'est pas une mouvese idee, je voudre bien participe avec mon Fracais qui est penible.

piri_reis 02-26-10 10:00 AM

Voted yes.
The more people Subsim has, the more productive and stronger we get.

Carotio 02-26-10 10:07 AM

I have had Silent Hunter Mods Forum as a multi-language forum since the very beginning, but it does not accumulate much more native language forum members being active in their own languages anyway. And I seriously doubt it will be any better in Subsim. Subsim is still regarded as an anglophone forum, and the German native speaking members and guests will most likely frequent the German Ubi forum and MarineSims.de the most as they have always done.

Then again, it can't hurt...

signed and voted therefore no.

Sailor Steve 02-26-10 10:17 AM

There is already a Polish forum, a Spanish forum and a Chinese (?) forum, so why not German and French?

As with a couple of others, though, I declined to vote, since I wouldn't be using it anyway.

danasan 02-26-10 10:22 AM

I voted "Yes" for some reasons and some ideas growing at the moment. But it is not me to introduce that ideas.

Well, if there is a demand for it, I would try and translate some German things into English from time to time...

Same here.
Although I think that it might be helpful in terms of tips and strategies to the game for some people. But on the other hand all of the mod stuff could become a bit too cluttered.
