Just a quick question here regarding the 2010 library files. Do they replace the 2009 versions or we need them both?

piri_reis 02-20-10 03:09 PM

Yes great stuff. :up::up:

I've been adding these in groups to my game. Working out nicely so far, then I'll try to script some of them in historical missions..

I'm getting a conflict (CTD at the museum) using your ships with "St Naz and Schluese and other units" mod. I guess it's the texture and library files, but I am not sure.

Any ideas?

Wreford-Brown 02-22-10 07:17 AM

I've also been suffering CTDs but only with some of the ships.

St Naz and Schleuse works fine with both Lib and Tex 2010 enabled and with USS Omaha, Saratoga and Enterprise included in the campaign files so I'm not sure it's a texture file problem.

I think it might be an ID conflict with some of the ships. I've been working on a new project that I'm close to finishing then I'll be checking out these great ships and seeing which I can use and which I can't.

Then I type it! Proposed solution I would not currently. :06:

The more you load up SH3 with ships the more likely it crashes. For example, about 6 months ago, I added some Sh4 ships and IABL ships, going in sets of 3 and testing in museum and campaigns. After a point, it got very unstable. Sometimes it would open the museum and sometimes it would crash the campaign. Days of testing different variations, never reached a comfortable mod list.

Recently I used the /3GB boot.ini switch and the 4GB exe patch. Which helped get rid of most of these CTDs. Now I have about 30 Yamatoforever ships (the ones that never worked before) running perfectly, no problems at all in the museum and in campaign so far.
So I propose that only people with 4GB RAM or 64bit OS run that much new ships, some might get away with running a few of these ships maybe.

So, this has been my experience with new ships, the CTDs weren't texture or ID collision, they were the SH3 game engine blowing up!
Although there is one ship that seems to have an ID/text problem, it will CTD in both museum and campaign. I'll have to recheck which one it was :hmmm:

melnibonian 02-22-10 03:19 PM

Just to clarify something here.

When I am using yamato's ships (all of them) alone I suffer no CTDs.

When I use BBW's St Nazaire and WBs ships I suffer no CTDs

When I combine Yammato's ships and St Nazaire/WB's ships I suffer CTDs.

I hope this makes it a bit clearer
