It's pretty ignorant to rule those people out for playing a offline game isn't it?
So go back to your cave and don't tell me to learn what I'm talking about.

As I said in another thread, people used to like record albums too, but guess what, they were replaced as soon as something better came along. Regardless of their love of records, tapes still came out, and CDs still came out. Now those people are forced to search vintage shops for them. You cant wait for everyone to jump on board, technology is a moving train that stops for noone. Jump on board or find another hobby.

All of these guys that dont have a constant connection, or are on dialup, will be searching used game bins for offline only games, when none are being made anymore.

You think I love having to rely on my internet to make sure my games keep running? Nope, but one thing I will not do is :wah: about it.

And, yes, my wallet def stays closed as long as this DRM is allowed to stand.

Like I said in another thread. I have two boys I can play catch with this spring. I will still be busy, SH5 or no. :O:

The magical world you live in where everyone has superb Internet connection simply doesn't exist. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you've probably never lived in Mississippi? I have. Trust me on this one. Their Internet sucks canal water. So do many other rural areas of the country.

I wish it were otherwise. But the magical world you describe really doesn't exist yet for a huge segment of the American population. That's not opinion...that's reality. :03:

The record to cd comparison doesn't really work. The move to CD's didn't entail any kind of reliance on anything (except electricity and a new CD player) I can play music CD's in the exact same manner as I could records, anytime I want, no restrictions.

In 2005 Hurricane Wilma hit south Florida and knocked my power out for 5 days, but it was a full 3 weeks before I had Internet access back. So to pass the time, only thing I could do on the pc was... play some games (Civ 4 had just come out, so I was happily occupied). Under your 'new world' playing games would not have been an option.

Of course, I could still listen to my music CD's with no problem or my old vinyl records on my usb turntable, and that's where your analogy fails. Requiring a constant Internet connection to play a single player game is not a feature or "something better"...
