Where can this special version be ordered?
The only thing really worth on it is the metal box; I have the Silent Hunter 4 one and despite it having a debatable paint scheme (Green!) I like it a lot. Will consider this special edition, but I'm certainly dissapointed about the extra content. :hmmm: |
Just a small point - the pic above indicates that the Collector's Edition includes all the things listed. That doesn't necessarily mean that the standard edition *excludes* all of them (i.e., the map, manual, or whatever that may have come with standard editions in the past), unless you've got an official release somewhere stating what does and doesn't come with it.
I have some "Collector's Edition" DVD sets and the only thing they have that the "non-collector" edition doesn't is the shiny metal box. |

Meo what gets me angry is the fact that they want money for something they have not done a damn thing for.
that Jpeg file, printed with the SHIII logo, exists for 5 years now. They want cash and give nothing new. THAT makes me angry because that is stealing everyones Money - everyone that has SHIII, and gets the edition to "support" the series. In my eyes that is stealing. |
if only the map was a REAL KM map like in the old aces of the deep......
|
@HundertzehnGustav
I didn't mean to insult you, and you're not the only one who's so much angry. It's just that, personally, I don't get it. When SHV will be release, I'll check some comments here and/or elsewhere, then I'll decide if I go for the collectors edition or the standard version. I'll make a choice, no one will be stealing me. But you have the right to have you own opinion. |
But all thoise people that do NOT know?
They will give money for an old map, no? Ohhhhh.... grumble.... |

i really really do get your point on this but they do own sh3 and if they want to offer old content taken from a past game then its better then not getting it at all. yes i agree sh5 should be all new and done better because this is what we all want but if they want to just repackage and resell old content then i see it as someone buying sh5 who doesnt already own sh3 or sh4 has never seen it and it is new to them. even if it is just a way ubi is keeping costs and developement time down. maybe this is how they justified it being cost effective to make sh5 in the first place but we will never know for sure. |
Isn't it quite obvious?
The regular version will have this: -Silent hunter 5: Battle Of the Atlantic PC DVD-Rom -Game manual -Official guide, containing all in-game details -Authentic map of the Battle Of the Atlantic The collector edition will have this: -Silent hunter 5: Battle Of the Atlantic PC DVD-Rom -Game manual -Official guide, containing all in-game details -Authentic map of the Battle Of the Atlantic -SH5 original Soundtrack -7 unique submarine & enemy ship skins -One iron box I don't see/find it clarified any place, but I bet my big fat @$$ that it will be so. |
*sad look*
webster, right there i see what i will get! Or what others will get! oh man... *even more sad look* :cry: sigh. lets hope on the content of the Disks. |

That "authentic" map looks even less "authentic" than the SH3 map, and is certainly less "authentic" than the AoTD map. |
I was holding off my preorder until I found out what the collectors edition was going to be all about. I like a good tin box for my games but other than that, I dont see much of anything to jump up and down about. :hmmm:
Most people already have that map from SH3. The music will already be on the game disc, and it probably wont be too hard to put that on a cd to listen to. This official guide, I wont be surprised if its also in .pdf form that will be on all the game disks. And even if its not, oh well. The only thing that peaks my intrest is the "7 unique sub and ship skins". I'm a sucker for good authentic U-boat camo patterns, but that's not quite enough incentive for me to bite. No sale Ubisoft, I'm off to go preorder the standard copy through SubSim. :ping: |
