I gotta point out, OTH, that it is NOT racism to be critical of Islam.

Islam is not a race, it is a religion that pervades into the way of life of its subscribers.

Why is it that noone can criticise islam, but to criticise judaism results in bitter, lie-fuelled clashes and christianity is free game? I've never had an answer to that question.

At the end of the day, islam judaism and christianity all worship the same entity. their clashes are absurd.

That may or may not be true, but it is not important. When we talk of Isalam in contexts like here, we do not mean the theological or philantropic or spiritual diemnsion of it, but we talk of Islam in its political and sociological dimension, and the effectsthat Islam creates in it, and in society. And there it could not be any more different from a democratic liberal open secular society - whose rules it does not accept and totally refuses to accept now or in the future and sees as a hostile entity that must be overcome.

Sorry to ask but I'm a bit lost after reading the article: What exactly is that "islamic" march about? I mean, I have understood they are planning to go on parade through that town, and all that, but what exactly is their message, protest or whatever for that parade?

Oberon 01-14-10 09:41 AM

Protests against the war I believe, with an under/overtone of anger against British soldiers.
Of course, it's the positioning of the march that's the problem, these sort of marches go through London fairly often, but Wooton Bassett is the place where the war dead of the UK are marched through on their return from operations. Barely a month goes by without it being on the news.
The march won't take place now, which is, I think, a pity.
Up until now, these 'minority' groups have had it all their way, if they have a problem, its fixed for them quicker than you can say 'hate-crime', however the growing anger in the UK against the immigration problem and the Islam issue has, so far, only been represented by gains made by the BNP. What is needed is a mass riot to make the government take notice and address the greivences of the people, however knowing how heavy handed and politically correct the government is, it would probably then condemn it and push it under the carpet.
Things in Britain are simmering, just below boiling point, and all it will take is one person in the wrong place at the wrong time, and there will be bloodshed, by god there will be. Rivers of Blood, to quote a famous speech.

Provocation, nothing else. Spitting in Brits' face (but taking their wellfare money nevertheless). It's about making us falling back another small step. This time they may have failed - or not? The media coverage they got is a huge success.

A walking, acid slime-hole that fellow is. Get into contact with it, and see yourself getting digested alive by the slime.

It was asked during a discussion around christmas: why are Muslim employees never offended when being payed christmas money by their employers? :hmmm:

I heard a similar analysis from a friend in Spain..
The same timebombs are in all other countries aswell, ive predicted before that the story will have a violent ending.

pleasing the minorities is taking more and more extreme forms lately, at least here in the netherlands.

recently a public high school with a 30% muslim population cancelled all festivities having anything to with christmas, because "celebrating chrismas would be offensive for the muslim students". The school did however celebrate ramadan, which apparently wasn't seen as offensive for the 70% non-muslims:damn:
luckily under pressure of the dutch press they eventually reintroduced christmas festivities:)

And then they're always protesting about being discriminated.. hell, who were being discriminated in this case?

Oh and before anyone's gonna accuse me of being a nazi:

..which is almost exactly as much nazi as ghandi was

All it's about is a fanatical gob****e wanting media attention, he got the attention and as a result his "organisation" which has about 12 followers is being banned on the grounds of incitement to hatred.
Its a pity really, they should have left him to it, allowed him to go on with his nonsensical rants until he had dug a hole deep enough for him to be thrown in prison for the racism.
