its not much of a look with only a few seconds to see but i did like the way the planes dove and manuvered so i hope that means they have a realistic motion to them now
|
Looks good so far. The one thing I noticed was when they were at periscope depth and the escorts were firing there front guns, you could hear the guns going off. I dont think in real life you would have heard that at periscope depth, under water and surrounded by all that steel & water.
|
it's a representative video, we shouldn't take everything we can see as really in-game feature.
For instance, when periscope is getting down after the third zoom on the firing DD, we can see its propellers.. but probably DDs are 500-1000m far (as the first zoom periscope scene shows) ..so can we see 500m far propellers when submerged? I guess no. Or, on other hands.. the game is a first person viewer, so why we can see the captain figure giving orders? |

That`s what i mean, when you see the trailer it looks like you are in a bar or something. I do miss the narrow feeling, too much room... |

I'm glad someone brought up the cavernous feeling of the interior; I thought maybe I'm being too picky. But, since Ubi is choosing to feature the action inside they've made it an issue. If they're going to add this interactivity in SH5 shouldn't we get the closed in feeling like in Das Boot? I think it would be nice to get that near claustrophobic feeling; deep down in the cold ocean, pressure on the hull, surrounded by lots of steel pipes etc. while being depth charged.

It is shortened drastically. The "real in game footage" answers the question for all those asking "is this just a promo movie?" The sound of the depth charges is nice in my opinion.
I do wish they kept the "peaceful" scenes in. More interior shots, and the engine room. I do wish people hear would understand that to market to the masses you must bow down to the next to lowest common denominator. For most on this Forums hearing German dialog is just sauce for the goose. But for a person who has never tried a subsim, the German might be disconcerting. Which could affect sales. In other words for posters here, please can the "terrible dialog" statements until the game is out. :) I hope this re-release of this trailer means a new one is on its way out. |

the relative big size of the sub compared with the crew could be a engine limitation, to show well the movements of the crew walking along the sub in the compartments and limit the clipping.
Perhaps a historic size can cause a bottle neck for the crew when moving inside the boat and is better for the "movie" atmosphere |
I agree with the above. Sticking to 100% accurate scale might result in an unplayable game. :yep:

I remember Vietcong game where it was very difficult move inside the tunnels with other team members :yep:

I don't know about downloading, but the link in post #1 of this thread has the new one.
That's the one we've been watching.:sunny: |
Strange then, I took a snapshot of the screen and you can see the address bar as well as the date in the lower right corner, seems that possibly some countries display differently maybe!!:hmmm:
