OK - I know - I am too serious sometimes... However, Halloween originates with the old pagan holiday of All Hallows Eve. So it truly is a non-xtian holiday, as well as one of the few that never was "adopted" by christianity - whereas the major holiday - Xmas - does originate in other religions.

And have a happy Halloween!

And an Anglo-Saxon one at that ;) Then again, it's become a socially accepted pretext for wetting one's whistle, for which we should be grateful :DL

No. All Hallows is a Christian tradition from a Christian language and a Christian heritage.
If you are not happy with the Christian festival being moved to the date of a pagan festival then go back to the other date of the christian festival that somehow coincides with another pagan festival.
Honestly Haplo, someone described you as a man of the cloth.
Was that cloth bought at Liberty university or some similar fundyjokeschool?

I caught a cold the other day and wasn't up to participating in Halloween antics. Not having Halloween in Australia, I think there are too many treats and not enough tricks on Oct 31, but, daughter # 3 volunteered to take my place tonight.

The house was decked out with an assortment of stuff, including right beside the front door, a coffin, and a rope activated ghost that flew down from a recess in the ceiling. She weights about 150 pounds less then me so we stood the coffin up. When the treaters would arrive and press the doorbell, the Halloween decorations would go dark, the strobe light would come on, the ghost would drop down and the coffin would open up, allowing the daughter to jump out.

The early hours: parents with young kids, so no play action for them.

The early teenagers: we had one father sitting in the car waiting for his gangster boys, when the daughter jumped out, the boys ran across the lawn and the father drove off without them.

The older teenagers: dressed in jeans and the last minute mask - game on. There was squealing and screaming, and that was from the boys. Some of those kids may have to do laundry tonight cause we heard one still screaming as he turned the corner, 9 houses away. :woot:

I just turned the lights on the front yard, I have more candy spilled on the front lawn then I handed out.

Happy Halloween.

Went to a party last night.

There was some awsome costumes which really made me regret I did not have my camera.

A couple of 'cross dressers' one as Dorothy from wizard of Oz another from that show "twilight". I dident even recognize him untill he came over to say hi :haha:

The best though was a young woman dressed as Sara Palin right down to the red 'buisness suit, frameless glasses, and hair bun.

My friend whom hosted the party got alot of pics I will try to hit him up for some copys.

We actually got a little more kids this year than the last few years. Although I have a strong suspicion that we had some repeat customers. :D

I guess the word got around that we give out higher quality candy?
