Sounds great!
You will probably need some good music:

"Boom Boom Chick-A-Boom-Boom-Boom Chick-A-Boom-Chick-A-Boom-Boom-Boom"

Try to look up Sharky bribe her with a pair of red shoes and I bet her (and her husband) will take you out to dinner.

Glad you said two weeks, because a massive rain storm just came through the west coast on it's way to the midwest.

Have a safe trip ...

You must be getting old, uh and you want to do those kind of wild and crazy things.

I'll just stay home and watch diners and dives on the food channel lol

Cool shots. Too bad, I was considering going to the museum down there today, but decided against it due to, well, just not feeling the drive.

If I would've known you guys were there, I'd have stopped by and peeked the sub out again.

Nice, Neal! Cool shots.:|\\

Unfortunately for this Californian, school isn't out for another two weeks. However, I will be going to Chicago tomorrow and through the weekend for Quiz Bowl nationals! I'm going to do my damnedest to try to wrangle the team into visiting U-505, although that might not happen...

Neal if you pass through East Texas, there is a cold beer somewhere around here with your name on it.

be safe out there

It has been way too many years since I saw the U-505 Looks like they have vastly improved the exhibit.

Thanks for the pics

Please tell us a little more about the sub simulation. I don't know but I think some people on this board *might* be a tiny bit interested in this. :D

Good to see you got to your destination safely.

Your nothinking of buying her are you? :DL

Dowly 05-29-09 06:41 AM

Darn, that's cool! Now, be honest, which one of you yelled 'ALAAAARM!' when you were on the helm? :haha:

AVGWarhawk 05-29-09 08:11 AM

They really did a bang up job on the museum for this u-boat. I wish other pieces of history were treated so well.

Onkel Neal 05-31-09 01:27 AM

Thanks, guys. This was a fast trip (I'm home already!), I didn't have time to do much but it was great to see Sharky and Drebbel again, and meet Tim.

Yes, the museum is the best I have seen, they did a remarkable job.

Some photos
