Your best source of real info is YouTube, you get to see how cool space combat really is. And it really is. it sits somewhere between standard MMO combat and Starfleet Command. Which is a good thing. There is sort of the usual MMO healer/tank/dps mix between the ships, but there's just so damn much customization possible on ships.

Based on my time in closed beta, this game is a winner.

Startrek online: :yeah: Played over the weekend I am hooked, a born again Trekkie! This game is so full of nobility that I was born to play this game. :O: I highly recommend this mmo, in some aspects its better than swotor.

The good:
Aristocracy, nobility, the elite. Starships, captain of my own starship, warp speed, space battles, very cool looking gear, free to play. Disco - the running man dance. Character creation one of the best setups in an mmo ive seen. The Klingon.

The bad:
Ground missions could improve, the borg, this free to play takes advantage of the cash cow. SWOTOR is online too.

I played this when it first came out and for a little bit last year before the Chinese bought out Cryptic. I "retired" not too long after getting my Vice Admiral coat. To those who have played recently, is the ground combat still the same slow drudgery of cheap trash mobs between checkpoints? :yawn:
