That is very true. That's why it was named "Greenland"...

Not forgotten, an oft-studied thing called the Medieval Warm Period

The west coast is usually wetter and warmer because of the gulf stream, the east is drier but a lot colder, it's flatter and when we get winds in from the east, like we have at the moment, it can get a lot of snow.

The south of the country doesn't usually get a lot of snow, that's why I think they're often unprepared.

Our county council is running out of salt/grit now, with heavy snow forecast for tonight. Apparently we don't have to worry because there are reciprocal arrangements with neighbouring counties to use their supplies. Oh wait, they're also running low and expecting more snow tonight...

I would agree, so long as we are both talking about the ones who blame it totally on humans.

Then the FDA and AMA are to blame in this case with the allowance of medical practice to prescribe anti-biotics when they were not needed. We know have bacteria strains that are immune to the current anti-biotic regimen.

the problem allso lies with media proclaiming antibiotics to be miracle cures back in the day is to blame, that is one of the reason people demand to be given antibiotics even when they dont need it.
Actualy quite a lot of misgivings about science can be atributed to misrepresentation by popular media, a recent article about quantum teleportation comes to mind.

Indeed. The media has a nasty habit of proclaiming many things about science without giving sources, too.

Very true. My stepson used to get ear Infections a lot. The "family nurse practioner" always wanted to prescribe an anti-biotic and I got fed up and demanded that the "real" doctor see him. He himmed and hawed about it then finally decided that we see an ear-nose-throat specialist. The specialist had no bones about surgery in order to allow the ears to drain properly, which was the root of the problem as is in all kids that get this. So we had it done and no more ear infections...:)
