New Mod

HI

Thanks for your work on this- it I have it (v2) running with GWX 3.0 and it certainly looks good with the 16k atmosphere.

Will try it with WAC and see, although this version needs massive RAM 3gb or pref 4gb to run right.

Great work :arrgh!:

Flat sun

I assume you have tried the flat sun mod? may be worth a try if not.

Cheers :arrgh!:

hello robbythesub, no need to run the 16 km atmosphere or the flat sun fix.(if you have enabled them BEFORE my test version is ok ,doesn't matter.but don't enable them after my version)

disable all env mods in your mod list and run the combi and tell me if you have flat sun

with wac3 ,i assuming the combi will run fine (haven't tested with wac)

yes ,you need large ram ,but if it is heavy for your system set the lodfactor value to a lower number (read the first post )
bye

Hi makman,

I downloaded and installed your mod last night (version 2), but didn't see any of the OLC GUI - it had the stock 'bar' along the bottom instead of the OLC one.

Is there a mod I should have added beforehand?

Sorry to cover old ground, but what order should your mod be installed if I'm using GWX 3.0 with lifeboats, torpedo damage mod, etc. etc.?

Thanks mate,

Px3000

hello Phoenix , this is only an environmental mod , NOT a gui mod. so, first you install the gui you prefer ( in your case , the olc's gui ) and after this version . be sure to enable my test version LAST in your mod list .

ps: when you do it ,please tell me if you have the flat sun issue

bye

Hi Makman,

OK, I tried your mod again, this time with OLC's GUI 1.2.7 installed beforehand, and I had no flat sun issue. I run SH3 on a laptop - 4GB memory with 512MB GPU 7900GTX. Refresh is set to 60Hz and there is no slowdown unless I go VERY high in the sky with the camera and look at a passing convoy, then the FPS drops to around 20-25.

But other than that it stays around the 60 mark. Looking good !

i notice some 'errors' in the final version so i reworked the sun reflections and i will release in some days a new env mod with tottaly new colors (i found a very good tool)
its not finished yet but see the pictures below, the new sunrise (some purple water) and sun reflections, the water is more 'deeply' and 'illustration'

thank you robbythesub  . how does the new waves looked to you ?

in the next release i will slow down a bit the sea speed at heavy winds becuase the movement of u-boat is somehow 'strange'

bye

robbythesub 02-04-09 09:40 AM

Hi

Yes looks really good to me- I realise the high winds time is the hardest to make real, and also the polygon effect when viewing the sea from anything but sea level is a standard game issue, but yours and GWX 3.0 are superb in this area, so hope you can still improve it further.
