I'm out of the book, too.

I am holiday until Saturday, now, Skybird, so you might not get any more moves until next Monday.

Didn't you say you were on vacation until weekend...?

Yes, last move for tonight - see you after the weekend.

the position sits nicley set up on a board and on my table, and occasionally I have another glance at it. Several directions to go from here. several moves I have the pain to chose from.

Is setting up a poll about the next move considered to be violating the rules...? :)

I have analysed a ridiculous amount of variations here. After pages written and becoming dizzy, I knew it was time to stop :D d5 and Re2 also on my mind. What would you have played?

This is a good match. It looks like a dam thats about to break.
I wonder if sky's last move was the first crack.:hmm:

Don't see much other choice for me here - everything else is too risky.

Thought about Ng5, but shied away from the analysis of that. Let'S play it save. I see myself as having an advantage here, but it is too early to say I'm already through.

Hope you had good holidays.

Sorry, I always seem to be missing lately - I am working away from tomorrow onwards until friday, so this might be may last move for a while - unless I squeeze a couple more in later this evening.

Skybird 09-08-08 09:34 AM

it's okay, we do not need to rush the match in just seven days. i take as much time as I need, too - and I really do not wish to sit over the analysis board all day long. ;)

Skybird 05-01-09 03:37 PM

Clive,

I just wanted to make sure you noticed my reference to our second match in the other thread (The Fall of Europe).

Quote:

BTW, I always thought that you abandoned the second chess match of ours, and right now I wanted to pull your leg by asking for your next move. But now I checked back the old thread, and to my surprise I see that it is me whose last move is missing. However, in my old protocol, I have entered one. Has the forum software made my reply to you disappearing, maybe during a lag when sending it (lags haunt me on this forum quite frequently, and more than just a few postings went lost that way)? Want to continue? :)

However, I apologize, since the fault seems to have been on my side, I just found out. I had no intention to abandon the match in silence and just leave you behind. Somehow the story just - disappeared from my mind.
If you do not wish to play on after half a year, then that is understandable. Since it has been my fault, obviously, we of course score this match then as 1 point for you and 0 points for me, giving our double match a final score of 1:1, in conformity with international rules for correspondence chess if one side exceeds preset (or in our case: reasonable) time limits.

I just don't know how this could have happened to me. Altzheimer, maybe. :88)
