How could they miss the STG44-Vampir?

The first personal nightvision scope.

Nah, I don't get as excited by artillery.

You might not get as excited, but for me, The artillery conquers, the infantry occupies.

Look at this piece of craftsmanship! Ain't it beautiful?

Some of these post contain the biggest "small arms" I've ever seen. Amazing.

MG42 is a favourite - the principle is still being used in most medium machine guns to this day. The British General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) is a very close copy, as is the American M-60 with the same principle also being used in the SAW.

They lied a double railway line all the way from the Factory to Sevastopol and
Stalingrad so those giants could fire less than 50 shots at the Russians.

That was the idea behind the P.1500 (Drawing above). It was to take the same
cannon, but be more "mobile".

Not to mention the German M3, which is almost the same as the MG42 and still in use.

the most fascinating ww2 weapon for me even if it's just a rumour for now, is the
"UFO"
http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/568...413x236de5.jpg
The Hanebu 2
some links about that

PLEASE NOTE: My intention was only to mention that rumor not to start
a quarrel about wether these existed or not.

You mean MG3:D.
Yes that thing is very similar to the MG42. It looks like a MG 42, fires 1200 rounds a minute and weights 12.5 kg (:dead:).

The rest is still neat.

is it me or does that MG45 on that link look just like the MG42?

Schroeder 07-12-08 06:19 AM

The MG45 was just an improved MG42.
Just look at the current MG3. It also looks very similar to the MG42.
