Any programmer worth his salt would have figured out a way to make my game load NOW! So I can play NOW! Also, GWX killed my cat! Now, where did I put my copy of Silent Service???:p |
Why do I have time for two cups of coffee ?
<tongue in cheek> Because they didn't know how to stretch it out to three cups of coffee!!! :rotfl: |

It does not happen everytime. Now the fridge magnets demagnitizeing? Or loseing your hair? :hmm: |
Is that what's causing the weird changes in your new sig?

Get it straight fer once!   For those wishing to reduce the loading times in GWX, I recommend total removal of the campaign files so all that data doesn't have to pass through the bottleneck. Who needs a campaign anyway. :rotfl: |
i NEED champaign, what you got against champaign anyway?
no champaign, no sense in SH III or GWX. :o :hmm: |
I'll just stick to my TWO bottles of rum http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...lies/crazy.gif

Meh! I say :shifty:
Good things come to those who wait, or so I'm told :smug: spoiled, I say :D You young whippersnappers have it easy (really, you do!) I had to beta test GWX on a 1ghz processor with 1gb memory, and not only did I have time for 2 cups of coffee, I had time to do the shopping too... But did I complain.... no, no sir, I persisted, and loaded up the game, again and again, and got all the laundry done too, and the dishes, and, and... and I ingested more coffee than can possibly have been good for me, :o :o can't you tell? :arrgh!: |
Well in my current computer, its exactly 4 minutes to load the main screen and 7 minutes to load the carrer. I double click sh3.exe and go to the bathroom, comeback to my room and change my cloathes. The screen loads, I click load game or start patrol and go downstairs to prepare my dinner.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That's just the way it is... |
What!! :o .....You even have time to wash yer bum and change yer nappy :hmm:
I don't believe you  |

When my cat starts mewing, means "career loaded !"
Perfect interpsecies cooperation :yep: |
load the game.... 35 seconds at most
load WHafen and the career... 1.5 minutes 2x2.4 Ghz 2 Gigs-a-Ram ATI Vidcards, full gig-o-ram (shared) or half gig-o-ram (standard) |
Ok, Ok, so we all have the same problem. It takes mine 5 minutes 38 seconds for the red bar to load. 10 seconds for the game to start after that. But now I am told that I do not have GWX 2.0 loaded. I'll be back.......
Regards Jib01 :damn: :damn: :damn:    |

My kids love GWX 2.0, they like to hear the wolf howl, so I load it as often as I can! Keeps them happy! |
If you are reeeealy geeky and have plenty of RAM and can great a 1GB RAM drive (and still leave your system with 2GB RAM for playing) you can use a program like Junction to create symbolic links (NTFS junctions) to the RAM drive. Then copy the campaign files to that location on your RAM drive. When your campaign loads, its limited by the speed of your CPU and RAM. Goes from loading times measured in minutes to times measured in seconds....
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys.../Junction.mspx I've used this techniques in various games. Use a utility like Filemon to find out which files take the longest to load, and simply put those files on the RAM drive, create the link, and watch it go. |
