Im really looking forward to Uboats addon for SH4 but hey we all know SH3 players are going to diss it to death, and no doubt we Pacific wolves will defend it to death! :) Yet after all the fault finding has laid to rest some of us might be shocked to find we're all manning the same ship so to speak. Anyway @ Steeltrap: To early to say as im trying out NYGM for the first time 2nd patrol Nov 1939 but i would say (going by my experience with GWX 1.3) if you want nice graphics with good enough AI go GWX. But if your not really worried about graphics stick with NYGM. Or if you just want good enough gameplay thanks to the SH4 modders with graphic effects that would make Microsoft Aero glass graphic artists jealous with envy well come on over to SH4 :D (sorry couldn't help myself) :rotfl: Good Hunting in the Altantic from the wolves of the Pacific. |

Normally swear words come in four letters. Being that SH4 is only two letters and a number, theoretically it can not be concidered a swear word. It does however bring chills to some because of it buggy release. But alas, it won't be long before the uboats will be bobbing about in the SH4 environment. If we think logically, perhaps the devs will workout all the remaining bugs (very small handful) because the uboat addon is forthcoming. A point to ponder. Forget the us and them, it is all about interest in submarines/uboats and a simulation. Anyway, were forgot this one: I would rather be pissed off than pissed on. |

I'm also in the process of moving on from NYGM to GWX 2.0. In my case, the rationale is pretty simple - it's just far more up-to-date with recent modding developments, whereas NYGM has not been updated for months and unlikely to ever be. Whatever mod I used as base - be it RUb, NYGM or GWX - I always ended up customizing it to oblivion. With GWX 2.0, I'm just giving it some time to settle in and see what I'd wish to change about it myself.
Before, I didn't want to switch off NYGM due to the sensor modeling there, which I still consider superior to anything else out there, but I guess between the million new features that GWX 2.0 has by comparison and the fact I've actually gotten used to playing various SHIV varieties which remind me more of GWX than NYGM sensors, I figured I might as well update. The beauty of major mods is that they provide stable platforms for further developments and tweaks. I think GWX 2.0 will be that platform for the foreseeable future, so I don't see any reason not to switch. |
