Now I must admit, I'm no huge fan of many of Israel's military actions, and I don't always agree with what Avon Lady says either, but when you start touting David Irving, as you did in that thread, thus revealing your Nazi sympathies, then you could be damn sure that I, and indeed most other people, would come down on AL's side. She did indeed insult you, but she didn't (intentionally) insult Poland, IT WAS A TYPO! You might be from Poland, but you do not represent Poland, and neither do your stupid pro-Nazi leanings.

Chock-I encourage you to read the introduction of Hitler's War by Irving.Only the introduction-he explains "his" problem there.My-as you called them-"stupid pro-Nazi leanings" has nothing to do with respect to soldiers who fought in II WW.My great-grandfather was in polish army and was killed on 3rd September 1939 and and the second one was in Wehrmacht from 1941 to 1945.But as I said-I respect every soldier-even Red Army despite the fact I hate communism. When Dowly was sent to the Brig and the new thread on Ferret asked when he will return, it was shut down.

The pope thread derailed into the mess for which it was shut down. But different to the questions about Dowly, this new thread now asking why the pope thread was closed - was not shut down, although it should have been clear from the beginning where it is heading.

I fail to see the guiding principle here. I would have closed all the three threads - or none of them.

Just a clarification: when I refered in the original thread to one of the evilest places in the world, I was referring to Auschwitz - not to the country Poland. The picture that accompanied that comment of mine was of 2 Israeli F15's in a fly-over above Auschwitz in 2003.

And now, I leave this thread. Note Israel's blue and white flag still in my sig. I just wanna piss off some folks. :yep:

Oh, it is so very simple, Skybird. Go to the SubSim Review comments forum and read the Brig and Keelhauling FAQs. In it, it is specfically stated that petitions and pleas regarding banning will not be tolerated. It is clearly stated. The Dowly thread was heading in that direction.

Now, there is no stated regulation regarding the question of why X thread was closed. Accordingly, this thread may remain open, so long as we refrain from calling people names and antagonizing each other. Thus far, we are okay. Furthermore, this is giving people an opportunity to clear the air, and to correct members so that they may behave according to the rules, preventing future lockings and bannings in the process. This helps to improve the overall quality of the postings on SubSim.

There's more to moderating than locking threads, you know. However, if the discussion degenerates, you may have your wish.

I never said the others were any less evil. I was not the first one to bring up the subject of Auschwitz nor of disdain for Israel's flag. Try placing things in the context they were written in or do you revise 4 day old topics like you revise holocaust history?

AL-the word "evilest" means "the most evil".While saying this you were probably aware of the existence of several Conc.camps all over the Europe. By saying "evilest" you made an evaluation:this was the most evil.As simple as ABC. The same question why auschwitz was the evilest? Maybe because of "Polish crew" ?
I was never revising the Holocaust history-I've only mentioned Irving's theory which DOES NOT question the Holocaust existence.
