That's the DPI (Dots Per Inch) resolution. Really, 72 is for screen display, 100-120 standard printers & 300 is for high quality prints.

For your purposes, leave it at 72, otherwise the file size within PS will be restrictive. If you create a file in PS that's 10mb in size, PS uses 100mb of system resources just for the blank page before anything is added. Crank the DPI Rez up to 300 and you can imagine the file size you are working with.

Like I said to Dowly. Anytime you resize an image (up or down) you loose detail. When rescaling up, you are adding in pixels and visa versa, now PS has to 'guess' what to make those pixels 'look' like and it does quite a good job but not at those resolutions. If you want a skin in 2048, start at 2048.

Ya I found that out last night. I sized 1024 to 4096 and ouch it was blurry. I'm repainting it now, I'm also making a template with all the layers for each item in the pic. Right now Im finishing each rivit on the main hull. :damn: :doh:
