Maybe you were in a hurry and did not read some of my post which was...Quote..Anything over 2000 TC.......Unquote. I usually run from 1024 to little under 2000 TC ( don't remember exact figure ) and since 1.2 I have not had problems like your messed up screen ( what a mess eh? :hmm: ). Sure it takes me a little while longer to get across the pond, but my Sim/Game does not get all screwed up and it's a little closer to real life for me. Below is part of the 1.2 patch and I think the Devs knew what they were talking about: Silent Hunter 4 - Wolves of the Pacific Patch v1.2 5.4. Known Problems The water surface isn't updated during game pause. Game input depends on framerate which can cause problems especially when playing with higher time acceleration. Due to the extremely vast area of land and great number of objects many small collision problems can be experienced. Now if you will excuse me I'll get back on my "Slow Boat to China"...........er Japan.:D |
Still curious...
No worries Elder-Pirate, it's all in fun!
I still would like to know WTF that screen was though and where it came from? It was darned spooky. OB |
Real-time is a little slow for those long cross-Pacific cruises to Japan! However, I rarely exceed 512x. I don't want to miss any likely Jap targets along the way!
The anomaly you see may be the Island Godess, upset because you TC'ed by so fast that you didn't stop for a visit! Beware bad voodoo!:88) |

While I don't do entire patrols in real time, I rarely go over 512 TC, and there have been plenty of evenings when I don't touch time compression at all, and just sit back and relax. It can be very soothing to just listen to the engines drone, and the waves lapping against the hull after a hard day at work. It really makes it much more exciting as well, when I do get the occasional sighting(especially aircraft spotted!) "snooze.....snore....AIRCRAFT SPOTTED! huh?! what!? GAH! Dive! dive dammit! dive!!!" I usually spill my coffee on those. :p |
I get enough of hurry up and get it yesterday every day at work. I don't need it in my sim life too!
|
I had a crash too, yesterday, but no strange dolls. I had just put some new stuff on my Salmon, and the crew refused to man the deckgun. I had to go there myself to fire it (calm waters), and after that I pressed something and the game crashed.
