I can't believe the Mighty Ducks are about to win the Stanley Cup. What is the world coming to?

Camaero 06-05-07 07:33 PM

Go Ducks! I hate hockey, but I absolutely love it when they win.

As for Basketball, go Lakers! (but get Shaq back and fix Kobe.)

Ah yes, people and their sports.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I love it when people call it 'ice' hockey. Like theres any other kind.;)

I have heard that there is something of a hockey interest in Britain. But I also heard that they're absolute gash too.:rotfl:

As for the Ducks (remember they're not mighty anymore http://community.racingone.com/emoticons/jack.gif) in all reality most of the team is Canadian players with a GM that used to run the Vancouver Canucks so... the only real american thing about that team is its home town. But really... ice in Anaheim? I hate Gary Bettman.

That's like saying Toyota is American because they build their cars here. Sorry, the only thing that counts is where they are from and where the money goes.

You are all getting spanked by the Anaheim Ducks, an American team, and we hate hockey! :D

Just trying to twist the dagger a little.

Well its not really our fault you know. There are 24 American teams and 6 Canadian ones. Statistically we're screwed. Not to mention the fact that all that young talent is getting wasted on places like Pittsburg and Washington.

I just hope they move the Predators to Canada.

Southern Ontario I think?

I believe Hamilton has given the new owner of the Predators exclusive rights to bring a hockey team to the city.

Well the rejects need amnesty somewhere. Hehehehe.

I do like most any sport that finds a home in Britain. Field Hockey, Cricket, Rugby, The REAL Football, all of it. I think that you Brits get the subtlty in sport that is inherent in the Canadian love for Hockey.

Hockey is in many ways like Football (the real one). Its just alot faster. The flow of play I think is very similar, though the cadence is very different alot of the time.

I also think that hockey incorporates all the best parts of sport. Phyicality (those gorgeous hits), skill in skating and checking (meaning the body), skill in puck handling (meaning dexterity), skill in strategy both offensive and defensive and needing to bear in mind the transition from defense to offense and vice versa. The roles that a hockey play can immediately shift. Forwards getting caught as defensemen on an odd man rush, or a defenseman pinching down the boards to cycle the puck into the slot. So much subtlety.

I dont' see how anyone can't see the beauty of it.

I totaly agree. The biggest problem over here is that it hardly gets any air time on normal tv,and if it is on it'll be in the wee small hours. As much as I love football I'd like to see a lot more hocky.

Indeed. The only time I ever see a premiership soccer match is at 5 am when I should be asleep.

That was the most creative, colorful, wonderous rant that I've ever seen by a baseball manager. I mean that one really is outstanding. It stands out.

It was a nice toss and he even remembed to pull the pin.
