Usually you can find them off the coast of Canada (Halifax) and between Canada and Iceland and around Greenland in March-April.

TarJak 05-06-07 08:23 AM

Thanks. I'll have to crank up a IX career and take a cruise over there to see if I can find one. I've tended to stay in the sun recently so feel like a winter holiday cahsing icebergs.

Kaleu. Jochen Mohr 05-06-07 11:41 AM

still havnt found one eather... (probaly becouse i like to stay near scapa flow).

someone mentioned somthing like a whale factory (or somthing like that) but i didnt found it

TarJak 05-06-07 11:31 PM

I think he meant Jan Mayen whaling station which is marked that way in GWX 1.03 but I'm not sure if it's marked in stock or other mods.

Kaleu. Jochen Mohr 05-07-07 04:53 AM

i play stock (patched up to 1.4b) WAC and GWX  il check it right away

Jimbuna 05-07-07 06:09 AM

In GWX it is called Batvika Whaling Station (German map) :arrgh!:

Kaleu. Jochen Mohr 05-07-07 06:30 AM

thanks for the information mates

Jimbuna 05-07-07 06:42 AM

My mistake.....Batvika Whaling Station is in fact what other people call Jan Mayen Island.
Bear Island is on the map but it is just a land mass, there is no port there

;)

danurve 05-07-07 09:40 AM

Dowley; cool screen. Looks like the boat found some huge ice-cream cones

Just for conversation, and I don't mean to hijack a thread, but what is the facination with ice-bergs beyond a cool eye-candy appeal? To me it is like the interest of wanting to sail into NY to scope the statue of liberty. To be fair I guess maybe if you've seen these things up close then there isn't a high appeal to see them in a game.

For the same reason we put new ships, aircraft, 3D objects, realistic graphics, improved sound, biologicals, corrected player U-boat 3D models and everything else we did.

Part of realism is presenting a realistic, living world.

That means having icebergs in the ocean.:88)

Before GWX they were unavailable as well, due to being broken.
