Well I don't have the 1.5 U boats update. I'm running the 1.4 Sh4 patch. The dds files for the periscope sights are on the link here

I figure that the 32 degree is a US styled Periscope view and the 8 degree is the German one- like the old SH3 and prob U boats for SH4. I guess it all depends whether you are bothered about authenticity or not. Personally I go with whatever customised version enhances the game so I'm using the 8 degree coz I like it.

PS Would be yer best friend if you zipped up yer 1.5v and uploaded it for me. I refuse to pay £20 for a bloody patch! :yeah:

I'm sure if you shop around you'd get it cheaper, and V1.5 does fix a lot of other problems, beside all the mods now, only support 1.5 - you're missing out a bit.
OK UBI want to squeeze a bit more out of a patch, but consider the high standard of all the Mods that you get for free !!

hmmm. At £20 its more than just "squeezing a bit more" isnt it! Many stand alone new titles retail at around that price and I repeat, its just a patch! I happen to believe that Ubisoft AND the modding community should be enumerated appropriately for their "excellent" modded contributions but its often amateur modding ideas which are hijacked by the company and then reconstructed in their "latest official patch". At an extreme one might argue that amateur modding falls into the hands of the developers because it means the developer can initially knock out unpolished games knowing that the modding community will finish them off. (this seems to be happenning more and more in the gaming industry). Then they have the cheek to create an "official" patch taking the credit and the profit for it. At the very least the modding community function as a kind of market research database for the developers where they can see what interests the fanbase.
I'm not altogether against this wonderful symbiotic relationship because the benefits I believe outweigh the downside.
Perhaps a charge of £5 to download the patch direct could be a more reasonable expectation?
~If I manage to find it cheaper than £15.99 you can have an apology -but not for the opinon!!

I agree with you. Everybody's been a bit peeved off with the patch price, but now we know better about UBI. We finally have a game that we've paid for (albeit a bit more :hmmm:), and one that I only started really playing this year, having put it off for over a year now, until all was 'fixed'
:)
