After the 1.02 patch i started a whole new campaign.
I am in 1943 and still didnt dye.
I love it to destroy coming destroyers.
I wait till one gets about 500 mtrs and use a T1 on the fast mode on torp depth
to 5 metres. Till now i have got them all. Really nerving but joyfull.
Yesterday evening i destroyed 2 with my gun. I have read on this forum
that you don`t take that risk but i got these bastards and i had only little
damage. Stay moving fast and dont sail on a straight line.
After that you mostly can hunting merchants much savier.

This will almost always sink a DD or DE.

Well, after the time i've spent in 1944 - 1945 ( most of my time ) i can tell you safely that the acostic torpedos are life savers. Just let the DD start his run on you, at a distance of 1000 m let the eel run and dive as fast as you can to a safe depth. A single torpedo should do it. When he starts to ping you, thats when hes done for. Also, they can safely be fired from max launch depth. ( 20 m for II/VII/IX and 50 m for XXI. ) Just keep quiet and let the torpedoes hunt them down when they speed up for a depth charge run or start pinging you. I find they work so well that as long as i have one i feel quite safe going head to head with a DD. When fired right, they will almost always hit. In GWX 1.04 it would be good to have the Foxer decoy built in for escorts that had it in real life, thereby greatly adding to the hunt.

I used the T1 throughout my first completion of the war.

I have started over again and in 1943 and I have chosen TII and TIII. What is the difference between the TII and TIII?

The T-IV, T-V, and T-XI. (Falke, Zaunkonig I, and Zaunkönig II) They are the acoustic torpedos. And now i have a question for anyone at this thread. I'm using GWX 1.03 and i have never see any T-VII torpedos. The Steinbarsch Walter torpedo. Any reason for that? ( Keep in mind that the Falke T-IV is not as good as the Zaunkonig I, requiring a louder noise to home in on. But fired correctly, still has a 90% chance of hitting. The Zaunkonig II is pretty much a 100% hit chance, however, its is still a prototype at the end of the war and is very costly in renown to get. Although it will never really miss so in that case its worth it.

Somebody did a mod that adds the steinbarsch walter torpedo;) sadly I cant remember who:oops: anybody?:hmm:
