I've not done it, but reading the thread, if you find it happening again open these files that are in SilentHunterIII/data/Campaigns/Campaign folder,

Campaign_LND.mis
Campaign_RND.mis
Campaign_SCR.mis

and change the line in the top section of settings which is marked [Mission]
that has WindSpeed=0 (which is hopefully what is causing the problem) to something else, ie WindSpeed=1.000000

Here we are 2 years down the line and were still tweaking the hell outa 3 and 4 gets released in 2 weeks man i think ubi should have focused on either another patch or a patch and a official add on for 3. Becouse there is a whole bunch of things i would love to see implemented in 3 oh well wishfull thinking:hmm:

Penelope_Grey 03-04-07 01:38 PM

Ok thanks for that guys, I was beginning to think nobody knew what to do or something! Because I didnt know what to do either. I still ain't 100% sure too.

Thats half the fun Grey SWAG aka Scientific Wild Arse Guess:up: gets me thru the day.

Faamecanic 03-11-07 09:28 AM

Just had the EXACT same thing happen with me. I just jumped a task force (using GWX mod) and sank a Fiji and Illustrious class carrier... got to my patrol grid and saved game (on surface). And I use SH3 commander and SH3 weather.

Re-load game, and dive of death. Blowing ballast does nothing.... hope that fix works as this was a GREAT first patrol with GWX....DAMN!

fredbass 03-11-07 09:50 AM

So if I understand correctly, the latest version of SH3weather has this problem fixed already, does it not? ,because this problem/fix was posted b4 the latest release.

Faamecanic 03-11-07 10:53 AM

I hope so.... the fix in the linked thread fixed my problem. I still need to DL the new SH3weather....

robbo180265 03-13-07 07:17 PM

Ok it's happened to me now:damn:

This bl##dy game and it's bl##dy bugs:damn:

I understand what I have to do, but what programme do I need to open the files so that I can edit them? Windows doesn't recognise them.

robbo180265 03-14-07 05:02 AM

Bump!

Faamecanic 03-14-07 08:05 AM

A dialoge box should come up when you try and open the file (double click on it) so you can select the program with which to open the file with. You should be able to tell Windows to open with notepad or Wordpad at that point....

leeclose 03-14-07 08:53 AM

I use wordpad it tends to work well and makes them easy to read mate:up:

robbo180265 03-14-07 04:07 PM

Thanks guys. Didn't realise it was that simple:oops:

At work now, but I'll get right on to it when I get home.

Once again thanks for the help

leeclose 03-14-07 05:15 PM

Well were all here to help and if we dont thats becouse were drunk/asleep or both:up:

Meridian 03-25-07 05:49 PM

On a similar note. I had the same thing happen a few days ago before I saw this fix.

I'm using GWX 1.02 and SH3 Commander. After the dive of death I had a CTD. When I reloaded the game it didn't show any of my previous save games, they all totally vanished.

Does anybody know a way to recover from this, or what caused the saves to disappear. I checked the Saves in the Career folder and the files are still there, they just won't show up in game.

robbo180265 03-26-07 02:22 AM

That's really weird. Have you tried re-editing the files as detailed above to see if they re-appear?

Meridian 03-26-07 02:35 AM

No, I started a new career before I saw this thread. I also found another possible fix for it in case it happens again, but I hope not.

Just incase it happens again for me - what was the other fix?
