Well, #3 and #4 are pretty basic stuff, I know you have to be capable of answering those questions to pass College Algebra. And no matter what degree plan you're in, you have to be able to pass algebra, right?

Way to go, CCIP! Math is an overrated subject anyway. If only we spent a fraction of the time spent teaching math to students in high school on the social studies, the world would be a better place.:know:

Try designing a launch vehicle, jet engine, or bridge with anything you learn in a Social Studies curriculum.

Ouch! That's a broadside across the bow if I ever saw one!

Wasn't intended as a "shot" across the bow, or even an insult. I was just pointing out that math should not be replaced by social studies. As a proud citizen of the USA , my point is without math, this world would be worse off. Math is not an "overrated subject" at all.

Agreed. Even if the area of study is history, literature, or other social subjects, math and critical thinking courses are essential. And I'm not a "math whizz" or fan, but there is no avoiding it: math counts.

Surprisingly, no! The college I go to does not require any math courses unless you are in a math or science field.:hmm:

Correct. I don't have any math requirements either (BA in Linguistics, MA in Applied Language Studies).

I didn't take math, but didn't stop me from taking a broad range of totally unrelated stuff - from Geography to HTML. I for one love variety... just not so much pure math :p

Math counts.... I love the pun. Personally im quite fond of multiplying.

We do have a math requirement, but it's minimal. I've fulfilled it with Statistics and Financial Accounting.
