Furthermore, I think the antenna could not be rotated full 360 degrees.

The GWX version rotates halfway and then reverses:up:

Hi all,

thanks for the info. I am still wondering if the DF antenna was operated all the time or only when contacts with enemy ships were expected. Anyway, l learned a lot about the DF antenna. Thanks.

Cheers, LGN1

LGN1,

It is my impression too, that the antenna stayed in the lowered position most of the time but was used more often in the patrol grid assigned to the U-boat.

You are tired to rotate.

The antenna had to be able rotate on its axis. The rotation mainly was by hand, by means of a handle. Picture number 1 shows radio direction finder consisted of receiver (1), loudspeaker (2), loop antenna (3) and a handle (4).

1) Radio direction finder antennae rotates by wheel to similarly rotation of a radar antennae.

2) Not all submarines had a direction finder attachment to Keln E-526 (or T9K39 Main).

What reasons for such opinion? :o
At cinema I saw automobile RDF and its antenna did a full turn.

Let's not dream, and we shall look only the hard in game facts.

Question: whether can radar antenna and DF antenna simultaneously rotate?...
But it is a theme of another mod.

Hartmann 02-23-07 02:57 PM

i would have the antenna always raised If i was a kaleun

You donīt know when a group of ships sailing in radio silence could transmit something.

my boat is always in war and looking for targets.:arrgh!:

Sailor Steve 02-23-07 06:28 PM

Good points, Hartmann. Also, if the radio guy's not looking for signals, what am I paying him for?!:damn:

Anvart 02-24-07 07:06 AM

I as an aquarian small fish, see all, something speak, but anybody does not hear me.
