Ok , i have been thinking about this and maybe because SH3 was a bit of a mess and they are rushing SH4 a bit . Maybe for other reasons as well , UBI may release the SDK . Who knows ? Pray maybe .

Here's some more good news... they have future plans for a patch/expansion?

Q: Martini_PL: Will be possible to cooperate with AI, or to become Commander of submarine team - so I could go on mission and be leading 2 or 3 more subs?

A: Unfortunately, wolfpacking won't make it in the release version of the game. This is a feature that we're looking forward to implement in the future, though.

We may get wolfpacks after all :hmm:

flintlock 02-22-07 04:49 PM

I wouldn't hold my breath, Boris.

They've said similar things in the past with features for SH3, none of which ever came to fruition. No disrespect meant towards Ubi or the dev team, though I suspect they're likely just paying lip service here. That said, I certainly wouldn't be averse to paying for additional content via an expansion in the future.

What the dev team wants or intends, and what the publisher allows or funds, are not necessarily related.

I would take this meaning SHV etc, unfortuately!:-?

Absolutely.

In this case, the SH4 devs are part of the publisher's own in-house development studio. They're Ubisoft employees. Not that it changes the validity of your comment - just pointing it out.

Not in 'release version'. This does imply at the time of release only.

They also before mirrored the sentiments of the community that wolf packs are very important part of gameplay.

In other words, the statement opens for at least the possibility of it being implemented in a patch.

THE_MASK 02-22-07 08:54 PM

Dynamic fog , i asked for that in the (what would you like in SH4) thread . I also asked about it on the UBI forum (ask the devs) so you can thank me for that LOL.

flintlock 02-22-07 08:59 PM

Thank you, sober.

Ubisoft promised the same for SHIII, now they must show whether their word can be used or not!

Ehm, read again - this answer IS about SHIII.

I'm ambivalent. What I would be happy about is that they go through on all the promises of a better-moddable SHIV though :hmm:

Ditto.

Here is a good one from today:

Quote:

Q: Godzero: When ships sink, will the crew jump ship. (Like into the water) and swim for it? (I would love to gun down helpless sailors trying to swim for it. Or rescue my own country's men.)
A: Whenever a ship sinks there will be some survivors that will run away from the wreck in life boats. They will leave the danger area and you will be able to save them. This is also available for the airplanes; whenever an airplane gets hit the crew will have a chance to jump with parachutes; after they hit the water you will be able to rescue them.
So:
- rescuing survivors - from both planes and ships is totally in
- But notice the dev. skirting the part about "I would love to gun down hepless sailors trying to swim for it"

Barkhorn.

Yea, it could be a Christian "second-coming" timeline the devs are referring to.

;)

He's probably just ignoring the fact that the person asking the question seems a little bad in the head. :dead:
