Its not like we wave-junkies have several titles to choose from. |
ok thanks jim ill have a look!

Boris made a very good point. And i'd like to take it a step further
that, with these game consoles ? x=box ,ps2 ps3 .Not real familiar with the high priced beasts. BUT to me Low Sales = Less PC games. I don't see it happening soon but I don't have to tell anyone that 5 years in the computer world can be a lifetime. So buy SH4 as soon as you can And buy it from SubSim if you can. |
SUBSIM purchase of SHIV
As of this evening the SUBSIM link to purchase is a dead end with the title unavailable sticker.
Neal stated he's trying to fix this Monday when they are open for business again. We can sit on our Credit Cards till then. The Amazon rep told Neal the titles would be the same as UBISOFT's pre-order box. I hope he confirms that with someone other than the person that told him the Amazon pre-order link was up and OK.. If you like this Genre of game and enjoy the community especially the many varied and unique Mods SHIII has had done. The SHIV game ought to be stellar. Your purchase and support will lead to more gameplay and future improvements..... Till Monday night when I'll check and pre-order if the time is right.... :smug: |
i will buy this game with no excuse , in spain it cost only 20 euros,
a succes in sales ensure future developments :hmm: |
definately hartmann. its hardly going to break the bank! anyone would thing you'r buying a car the way some people talk :rotfl:
|
One other thing: It might be possible for UBI to extend the amount of work which the devs are doing if there is a good number of Pre-Orders made.
I don't know for sure, but it sounds possible to me. :) |
Mine's been 'on order' for a while. Looking forward to it... and the subsequent 'developments'. If it is 'protected', as SH3 is...I'll be buying a second copy later, hopefully at a lesser price, from the USN Exchange.

This seems kind of fruitless..... from the looks of it not much confidence is put in SH4 at the moment. This thread gives off the impression that if we subsimmers dont buy the game strait away all is lost and subsims will end.
Point is SH4 will only succeed if the masses take an interest, and that doesnt just happen over night. The game wont die if it doesnt sell out on the first day. People can go out and buy the game when they please as long as they eventualy do. I think its great though that people buy through Subsim to keep it up and running. In my time here theres been a really mature community and some great news updates :p Saying all this though, theres no doubt il be grabbing a copy the first day it comes out  |

==================== Oh, I don't feel that way at all. I have a lot of confidence in the final Pacific Theater(re) game. It just seemed the right thing to do to join the 'Rah-Rah' party .... COB |
i feel extremely positive. this things going to be great!!

G'day,
I agree and already pre-oreded a copy. And I remember when SH first came out, by SSI, I bought a copy and played it under Win98 til the 1's and 0's came off the CD. IMHO SH was well worth the purchase price then and I believe the same is true of SH4 now. I do have this obsevation: SH xx is a WWII sub simulator; for the most part there were 3 nations operating at the deepths. With todays advances in hardware and software I would think it possible to produce a game, such as SH, that give the player the option of selecting the nation (of the three in this case) her/she chooses to be a subcommander. Or is that ahead of the time thinking? |

Atleast, pre-ordered from www.amazon.co.uk (and they ship to the cold north too..). Now it is just the waiting time.....:nope:
|
I never pre-order unseen games since two years, too much disappointments in the past, particularly with Ubisoft games and their customer support after the release.
No demo or other way to test a game ... no buy, plain simple! The good thing is, here in Germany 98% of all new games can be be borrowed from video/dvd dealers and often already 2 days before the official shop release. That protected me often in the past, that games in which I actually interested, only collect dust on my shelf because I blindly bought it e.g. like Silent Hunter III. |
for myself and many on here, your buying more than a game. your supporting a hobby!
|
Well I've already pre-ordered mine from amazon. I don't think I'm going to be dissappointed. I loved SH3, and SH4 is shaping up to be better... so nothing to lose really. I mean, I'm going to buy the game sooner or later. I can't imagine any scenario under which I don't buy the game... unless all that has been reported about the game is untrue.

I Bought them all, so why skipping part IV? We should all buy it as we need to make sure that future investments will be done. Maybe we get an Atlantic update. We should once get a version with Wolfpacks? Will that ever happen? Let's make sure there will be a SH-V with that.

If your going to buy a copy, use the link through the subsim website! Then Subsim cets some extra income at no cost to you!
If you are like me, living in a country that isn't covered by the Amazon links, give a small donation to the site. It's your site as well so if you want it to stay, support it! |
