I rest quite successfully on the sea floor to great effect on losing the DD. It usually takes me two patrols to reach the sea floor for a rest and by that time the DD have done their job and moved on. At this point I rest for eternity on the sea floor:D

i dont know about you ,but it worked for me.
but go to the bottom u need to set ur speed very low (less then 1knt)
i didnt get much damage but got away from the DD

Well, cripes. We're hearing two different stories here. Some say it works and others say it doesn't. :damn:

What is my poor wittle sub to do?

Morts 01-30-07 04:22 PM

whats you're sub gonna do ?
well hopefully stay away from the DD's so you can sink some tonnage

I have done this more than once, and lost the DDs. As stated you must set down gently, once on the bottom hit the "dive" key to stay planted. I have not tried this in GWX.:yep:

I think it's more of the depth of your sub then being on the seafloor itself.

i tried resting on the bottom once.....didnt go too well:nope: i think the helmsman thought id said "bury the boat in the sand"

Morts 01-31-07 05:28 AM

i tried doing it off st. helena in my IX
when i tried to raid the port the DD caught me off guard....i guess he spotted my periscope.
i tried putting my boat in the bottom and i was succesfull in making it land softly, but then hell came destroyer in attack run......he must have located me with the sonar....anyways he came straight up behind me and got 4 direct DC hits:nope:
survived untill hes second attack:damn:
