Hi,

Just want to say good work with modding the smoke - if I read the thread right did you say a newer/finished version is on the way?

If so excellent! :sunny:

Cheers!

I like the smoke on the end of here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...75008653689943
Notice all the different shades of color. There is white, various greys, and deep black from all the different things burning.

Also, the WGL 5.12 Mod for Opertaion Flashpoint has very good smoke columns for fuel fires. If anyone still has Operation Flashpoint they should check it out.

You can downlaod it here:
http://ofpc.de/wargames/news.php

My friend mentioned that the smoke effect that is scripted in WGL would look excellent in SH3. What's interesting about it (besides the particle effects) is that the smoke actually blows in the wind and has a dynamic behavior to it. It starts off small and slowly grows bigger as it burns, while secondary explosions add to it. The fires form these huge massive columns that can be seen pretty far in the OFP world. You may have a vehicle buring in one city and be able to see it in the next town over.

Here are some screens:

Very nice Pascal.

But I thought you were asking if we did. ;) Answer is yes for me and I prefer Marlboro Lights. And to the rest of you, don't say it.... I know I should quit. At least it's a bit better than drinking and driving, of which I don't drink. And I now have a son-in-law that won't be drinking or driving for awhile. :yep: he got caught lastnight. So let that one be a lesson to those that drink and drive. Don't do it! Sorry I got side tracked.

It is an example about importance of a zone with 0,0,0 color on edges of a-channel
rectangular.

Course we can do it togeither, but we know, there is so few possible version ... little more black, little more brown, then with a touch of red, then lighter ...then, then ....
Myself, i used at least 5 version different, with the feeling of the day !

With photoshop, it is easy to modified as we wish tga files.

Regarding smoke...

Is there any way to adjust the game so that the plumes are thicker without having to enable the 'bloom' via Shift-pageup?

They look a bit thin without it, but the bloom kills my AA settings, and I'd rather have the sharp image.

Thanks for the work guys.

I just tried this mod...it really has to be one of the best smoke-mods I've ever seen, for SH3 (and there have been allot, since release lol).
I'm talking about Pascal's mod with Anvart's fix.
Running a Radeon X850XT, GWX.
