Samsung 19inch widescreen here.
First time I saw the stretched images, I was so mad. I disparately sought fix but "digital flat panel setting" in recent nForce driver with 6800GT doesn't work. I so hated the oval periscope so I almost gave up. But after making the game in high-res mode (what an enormous difference from 1024!) and looking at a few times clamed my allegy on it and now it seems I'm adapted... (still, I couldn't accept 3 oval main interface dials so vanished them by incorporating sim-feeling mod) Aside from that needless to say it is good for movies and new game titles including SH4 will support widescreen so generally, it's a way to go. But more real estate does meen more graphic power demand  This monitor was about $220 so it's a budget monitor (SyncMaster 941bw). If someone's thinking about this monitor, I think the monitor is too bright (it's like over exposed) and I tried to fix this by tweaking various hardware controls & software (gf cards,' Windows') but it's not satisfactory. The back-light is very strong so "black" is NOT black (especially if you compare to a CRT monitor, all LCD's black is not dark but this monitor's black is really "bright" black) Howerver, I can't complain for the price - it's amazing we can get such a great (well, have issues tho) monitor for near $200. P.S. Inside of sub becomes more spacious as well and so it doesn't smell too sweaty :rotfl: |
I hope I haven't come too late in this discussion...DON'T BUY THAT MONITOR! First of all, I don't know the name and second of all the price is suspicious. When your in a flee market and/or some place in Asia and you happen to find some nice rip-off clothes(and they can be of very good quality if you look hard enough and have experience) go ahead and buy 'em but don't chintz on electronics. 200 bucks for a 19 inch widescreen monitor is great and it will look great for the first six months but after that, if the picture doesn't start degrading I'll be surprised. When it comes to electronics, you really do get what you pay for. I'd suggest hopping on over to Ebay and finding a good brand name(NEC, Dell, Apple) and buying from a Power Seller.

bump cuz i badly need the dll fix i havent played sh3 in a little over 2 days :cry::dead::dead::dead: and i want to play BADLY but my monitor is widescreen anyone know a dll fix ?
|
Here it is with the instructions:
http://www.communitymanuals.com/shii...lay_Resolution I have a wide screen too. It doesn't fix the aspect, all this fix does is let you run the game at a higher resolution. Even if that happens to be your monitors native widescreen res, everything will still look stretched. Personally, I just crank up the AA and AF in my graphics card settings. Gets rid of any pixelation and looks better than hi-res without, plus better performance. |
