Do a image google on sailboats and you will see what Teak trim looks like when it greys out. Hope this helps you. |
Update
All 3 Conning towers and the IXB are complete, moving on to the IXC.
http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/174/ixbfinalml5.jpg I 'washed' out some of the colouring on the wood trim. http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/4...bfinal2gp3.jpg http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/6...nal3al8.th.jpg |
Unless your going all out, IXC shouldn't take ya anymore time then it takes to rename the files :D edit: how rude of me.. LOOKS AWESOME. ME WANTS!
|
Do you know what else I noticed, the last two conning towers have the same texture template. I really wish I was a bit quicker picking up an that.
Are you telling me that the blasted IXC hull is the same as the IXB. Oh Bugger:damn: :damn: Oh well nobody likes repetition.:D |
=( I thought you knew that. I suppose if you want to be upset you can yell at me, i assumed you knew what used what textures, otherwise i would have said something.
Anyway, yes, IX/1 uses i think turm9c_1.tga IX/2 and IX/3 towers both use turm9C.tga Now techncially speaking the IXB and IXC use different textures. I think its NSSUboat9b.tga and NSSUboat9c.tga. All you really need to do is copy one file, and rename it as the other. Now that said, as you said yoruself, nobody likes repitition. I dont see it as wasted effort. The IX2 tower skin you did it can remain unique by simply packing it into a dat. You can have two different turm9c.tga, because the tower will first use whatever texture its packaged with. |
:o Looking really good dan  ...just in time for GWX (after beta testing of course)
|
IXB & IXC finished, both have unique skins. What do you think, release in this thread or start a new one? I don't know how to change this thread title.
IXB http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/1449/ixbfinaltu7.jpg IXC http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/4882/ixcfinalla5.jpg I'll think of something special for the IXD2 (which is my favorite boat). |
Skins and Title
They both look good to me. :yep:
As for the thread title, I don't think that it can be changed.:nope: Maybe a moderator has time to change it for you if you really wanted it done. |

Release for the Weathered IXB & IXC. JSGME Ready
I'd like to thank Fubar whose excellent skins were used as a base from GW1.1a.:yep: And Ducimus, who had the nerve to ask if I did requests:up: IXB http://files.filefront.com/IXB_Weath.../fileinfo.html IXC http://files.filefront.com/IXC_Weath.../fileinfo.html If someone with a faster up speed than 21Kb/s would like to mirror them, then please go ahead. Enjoy |
Oh i can't wait to get home and D/L those skins :D
Yeah, that Ducimus character.. that joker's got a lot of damn nerve, he's a damn punk! If i ever meet him in real life, im gonna give him a piece of my mind! The nerve of that ungrateful bastard to ask if you do requests! The gall in that ! geeez! |
:()1:This boat (IXC) is going to take me to America!
|
The IX boats look like they have metal deck plates whereas I have seen an image of a VIIB/C & IIA with wooden decking.
Is this the case or did the IX boats have wood too? |
Gotta say you got two beuties there dan...really looking forward to the IXD2 now
|
They both look gorgeous
I can't wait to finish up the lectures I have to give today and go home and try them. :D :D |

Looking at the older photo's youd swear it looked like a metal deck. The newer photo's are clearly wood. Either it was always wood, or at some point the deck was replaced/modernized by the muesem. |
Thanks a lot Ducimus. I think my IXD2 is now going to have a wooden deck.
Do you still have that link you posted awhile back showing a video with the IXD2? |
Dan, the decks were wood but the preservate used made them look almost black. After awhile I imagine they became weathered and showed lighter. But not as they would be before preserved, just a faded black.
I don't have the link but I did read that on a Uboat site the other day. Someone had a link for it. |
