We have a system over here called free enterprise. The
s**t on tv the same but, it's free. I guess you only get

i happily pay the tv licence fee, i find the bbc to be a great public service.

i hate tv adverts in the middle of programmes.

Good one man! :rock: We got one here in Swiss-cheese land. I have to pay and I can only watch the French language channel as I can't understand German even less the Swiss German dialect they speak here. :nope: So the other channels (Swiss Italian too) are wasted on me. Back in Canada we just pay our taxes for the same errr whatever.

Sorry no if you have a TV you got to pay. Some time in the last 5 years a couple had to fight there case in the courts, they said they only watch video and DVDs and had no interest watching TV. It took them a long time to win there case.

Here's another example you have a video or DVD recorder and only a black and white TV so you only need a black and white licence, sorry wrong.
Both the video or DVD recorder record in colour and you need a colour TV licence.

I am waiting too see if and when I am going to be summoned to court for not renewing my licence fee, what they don't know is I got rid of it.

Here in austria we pay for governement TV too. But we have NO COMMERCIALS! :rock::up:

No commercials...now there's a fairly foreign idea!

Well, we do have commercials, but they do not interrupt the Program for them. That means you can watch...das Boot for example with no commercials. But when the movie is over they send 15 min. Commercials before they start the next one. But at least they do not send them in the middle of it. :rock:

I think thats the best solution. :yep:

I think we pay something like 10 Euro for it.
