Eat like a cave man...if you can hook it, stab it, or pick it off a tree, it's good for you! Of course, running down the street with a spear *may* get you a hard look from the local constabulary...and I'm sure the local fruit growers may have a thing or two to say about your liberating their product, but what the hey. :D

I would post a dandy link to the Mayo Clinics article on the Peleolithic diet, but I'm a victim of the infamous Firefox "no cut/paste" bug...but you can goole it.

It's not a "bad" diet. If you are obese, and need open-heart surgery, there is a tremendous amount of benefit to the Atikins diet.

Instead of the diet, buy your wife an iPod and an elleptical machine. Call it an early Christmas present. Load up the iPod with music, and take 20 minute turns on the machine as often as you can. If you want to make things more interesting, *you* work out on the machine a couple times a day.....naked.
