Congratulations, glad to see that SHIII Mods are getting this type of attention as it helps the big wigs see that this genre is well and truly alive
|
And the best thing is that the more publicity our community has, the less copies of X1´s so called add-ons are sold.

ooh, Teddy has a SHIV sig! It's getting close. :)

Ahhh Yes! I remember my puberty days about 15 years ago now. The shrieking, crackling voice, that sometimes came forth from my mouth as I became excited about something. Don't worry Stabiz, this should only last for a year or two before it starts to go away. :rotfl: SubSerpent = 1 Stabiz = 0 :p |

And it's good to now understand why the GW webpage has had around 10,000 unique hits in the last six days! My only involvement with GW1.x was the v1.1a installer, and the incentive for me to offer that assistance was out of sheer acknowledgement of the great work that Kpt Lehmann, Marhkimov, Rubini, Nippelspanner, Gouldjg, CCIP, Pablo, Rulle34, Syxx-Killer, Ref, Type941 and a few others put together. Well deserved, guys! And if the reviewers liked GW1.1a, I can't wait till they see GWX (and I say that as a player and not as a biased GWX contributor!)... |
On behalf of the entire GW crew... past and present... Thanks for all the good words guys. There would be no GW or GWX without Subsim.com or all the fine gentlemen who have helped us along the way. The only thing I think I can really take credit for is being stubborn.
(I'm still waking up and pouring coffee down the hatch so this is all a bit difficult to take in.) It is ironic that there is a post here in this forum today that mentions the story of U-869... This story was part of what launched my obsession with U-boats... and the battle of the Atlantic. On a day that I was totally bored with all the flight sims... and saw some new game called "Silent Hunter III" sitting on the shelf at Hastings book store. I picked it up and read the box... which promised an expansive dynamic campaign. I actually put it down and went home... money was tight... "Maybe some other day... How exciting can this thing be anyway?" "Forget it." ... but then I dreamed about it! It just wouldn't go away!!! So I paced back and forth for a couple of days waiting on the next payday... In the meantime I went to the official SH3 website and DL'd a movie with Jürgen Oesten describing one of his adventures... Which then saw me gobbling up every downloadable video there... Finally I went back to the store and bought the last copy! LOL, Immediately I had some sort of little problem with it and went to the Ubisoft forums, which soon lead here... The rest is mostly a blur even though I am waking up somewhat now. I guess my point is that there almost never was a GW mod. Sorry for the ramble. Thanks again everybody. This place rocks.   |
It's great news to see this work recognized. I guess good work (and a lot too) does not get un-noticed eventually. Great news about the download link too.
Proud to be mentioned (through the Battery fix) in the article - included in GW1.1a - AND PROUD TO BE ON THE GWX DEV TEAM  |
Well done guys you deserve all the great things which have been said about GW.
It made my enjoyment of this game a million times better. Thanks from a humble subsim fan:up:    |
From me too, thanks for the work you all put into these mods. Named as well as unnamed mod'ers. SH3 would not have stayed on my sonar for so long without GW, RuB, NYGM and countless other mods.

A great and well deserved review for TGW.
