Its a state secret ?! Ok I understand that.
Lets try a psychological approach :
So a new question : is there going to be a new game in the future 2-3 years from now ? :rotfl:
Just kidding, and hopeing for the better. :D

I agree with alot of your additions SeaQueen. Regarding the Chinese Navy, we also need to see Type 052C, Type 052B destroyers. I would definitely like to see an update in the games database in the future.

Am I the only guy who wants Typhoon class (in other words akula class in russian). And NUKES (that would be so cool) or just sub to surface cruise missiles and surface targets to hit.
Also yenkee and delta class would be interesting-> why not cold war?

Me too. I actually sat down and made a long list of stuff I wish I had in the game. The list is pretty heavy, including everything from Timorese gunboats, to U212 SSKs. Every time I look at it, the list ends up looking more and more like the Harpoon database, though. :-)

I'm actually not against Cold War scenarios, heck, I make them frequently.

There are surface targets to hit. You can do strike missions in DW if you want. Nuclear weapons are way beyond the scope of what the sim does well, though. That really is more of a Harpoon type scenario, where you have an alpha-bravo, alpha-whiskey, etc. and fight as a task force. Nuclear war is sort of weird, though, because essentially, the whole globe is your battlefield, with ICBMs forming an integral part of your tactical picture, particularly from the Russian side of things, from what I gather.

Yes, I'd like to have a 212-class submarine, too!

This boat would be so cool in DW !
Powered by hydrogen fuel cells and only two (U31 and U32) in service at the moment.

U33 is in service since June. U34 comes early 2007.

Ah, thanks. Didn't know that.

Definitely would like to see next generation subs: Virginia, Russian Sevorodinsk (if that's what you call it) Astute etc. How about Russian Sierra classes, maybe a Mike? If those are too cold war that's fine, but the Mike with a titanium hull and liquid sodium reactor with 40+ knot top speed and deep diving capability would be a hell of a lot of fun to conn.

LoBlo 08-16-06 04:18 PM

What I do when I want to play a "Virginia" *cough, cough* is to decrease the noiselevel and upgrade the sensors of the LA.... that's about it. Sure the 3D model is different, but the torpedo tubes, VLS, and speed as about the same.

I wonder how fun it would be to play an LCS?:hmm: http://www.lmlcsteam.com/video/month-in-life.html

I think LCS will be interesting, but not significantly different from the FFG, honestly, except for slightly different gizmos, displays, etc. I still can't figure out why they don't call them FFG(R)s. The original concept of the LCS was called, "Streetfighter" and was basically just a corvette with lots of chain guns, intended for MIO and anti-piracy. Very quickly, though, it turned into the showpiece for the navy's new ideas of network centric warfare. It's also unclear whether the LCS will be a single ship, or a family of ships. Even as they're building the ships, there's still a lot still being worked out with them. I think it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

hyperion2206 08-17-06 05:40 AM

If they are really build and can do the things that Lockheed Martin promises than I'd really like to have them in game! The DD(X) class would also be a nice asset to play with;)

I would like to carry nuclear weapons around too... but then i would also like to see it explode at least...

Maybe for some mission like: "New Radio Message: X is expected to launch a nuclear attack to our country. Expected launch time is 0000. Prevent X from firing his missiles with all possible means... "
