Seawolves gets a bit of a nasty response here I'm afraid, and people don't like to talk about it. Unfortunately, NOT talking about it is the best solution, since even bad press is profitable, as the makers of the latest GTA game found out when the press got wind of the Hot Coffee mod.

Just for everyone's info, the guys who made Seawolves stole a lot of mods and sold them as their own work. People in this community and people in the German SH3 community had their work stolen and sold for profit, none of which ended up in the original mod-makers' hands. X1 (the developer of Seawolves) is a virtual pariah in the gaming community, and the people involved in the company have a long history of what can only be described as 'bad citizenship' in the gaming community. They seem to be purely out for profit, they don't care about getting a bad reputation (except in the sense that they will frequently use aliases in order to fool people), and they have no scruples about who gets hurt in their pursuit of the almighty buck.

I agree 100% with you.

Beery covered it pretty well in his post.It is a subject best not brought up.And there should simply be asked that people not bring it up in a sticky post at the top of the forums..if anything for the good of the community as the subject does no good when brought up anyway.

Haven't been around for a while so I've never heard of you know what, I remember when the game first came out and what FANTASTIC work all the modders here on the forum did for the game.....and us :yep:

It sickens me when I think about how it has all been missused in this way. If I were clever enough to be a modder.....and I aint! I think I would think twice about modding after that episode

I have personally had great satisfaction from using some of the mods that the guy's have made available to simmers like me who can't mod, and their work has made my experience of SH3 much more enjoyable.

Please guy's don't let this kind of thing put YOU off making mods, I and a number of people here really APPRECIATE what you have done.

Would someone please help Hired fix his copy of SW and post what you did so that X1 can take it and release it as their own patch?

I cant believe I said that. :rotfl:
