Wrong thread!

I don't think so.

I've just installed SH3cmd (over GW) and I'm getting that in my 2nd time that I start a mission.

SH3 Cdr is the most important mod for me. All the rest come a good second.

I'm glad you finally got it working on your machine!

Brilliant news. Downloading now. SHIII Commander is like the American Express card. You don't play SHIII without it. Thankyou for all your work on this brilliant addon to SHIII. :yep:

==Note for NYGM Tonnage War players==

To make SH3Cmdr and NYGM Tonnage War compatible with each other, you'll need to open "Ship displacements.cfg", located in the \SH3 Commander\Cfg folder, and change the RenownAwardedEqualsRandomTonnage value to 1. This ensures that the "renown" you receive is exactly the same as the tonnage sunk. Conversely, set RenownAwardedEqualsRandomTonnage to 0 to revert to the "classic" renown system.

Where is the line for time escorts spend searching after contact lost? It was in misc .cfg. I used notepad, and only had wave heights and crush depth??

Am I missing something?

Thanks JScones!

I think I should install SH3 Commander 2.5 and SH3 Commander CSP from SH3Com2.4? Am I right or not?

It's now in "Randomisation events.cfg".

If you are upgrading from R2.4 to R2,5, you can:
- Rollback SH3Cmdr R2.4
- Backup any unique SH3Cmdr cfg file changes you made (if any)
- Uninstall SH3Cmdr via "Add/Remove Programs"
If you correctly installed SH3Cmdr R2.4 you should only have SH3Cmdr.ini and the CSP files still remaining
- Install SH3Cmdr R2.5

If you are upgrading from an earlier release, after rolling back and uninstalling via "Add/Remove Programs", you need to go into Windows Explorer and delete ALL remaining files EXCEPT SH3Cmdr.ini (which stores your Commander History information).

To avoid confusion, the installation instructions only outline the second approach, which is the safest if you are unsure of what you are doing.

"Main engine" changes:

- "Simulate a realistic career length" parameters now editable via "Career options.cfg" file. Retirement is now based on the number of completed patrols multiplied by the total number of days spent at sea
- "Randomised days spent in base" parameters now editable via "Career options.cfg" file
- "Simulate realistic crew transfers" parameters now editable via "Career options.cfg" file
- Added ability to randomise essentially any value in any data file used by SH3
- Added ability to set the first patrol grid when starting a new career
- Added ability to randomise next patrol grid based on Flotilla and date
- Added ability to view SH3 Grid Map from "Change" screen
- Added ability to play (random) .wav files in Nightclub
- Added French translation to the Nightclub and NewsMod plus corrected other minor typos in the French language files (by Martin)
- New "RenownAwardedEqualsRandomTonnage" key added to "Ship displacements.cfg" to provide support for NYGM Tonnage War mod
- "Medals and renown.cfg" file renamed to "Basic changes.cfg" to reflect true scope of the file
- Added new fatigue model - Grey Wolves 8 Hour
- Now filters out non-SH3 added entries in the Log_x.cfg files (implemented in R2.4.1)
- Minor code revisions

New included mods:
- Hemisent's simulated thermal layers (randomly adjusts active/passive listening device values to simulate the impact of thermal layers)
- Fix which forces correct Arctic water textures when playing career in 11 Flotilla
- Improved crush depth mod that sets correct crush depths, with minor randomisation, for all sub types

Note that prior to installing this release you must *fully* uninstall your current release. Don't forget to rollback SH3 Commander first and back up any SH3 Commander files that you may have modified!

To download, use your SH3 Commander "Updates" feature or click here.

After you have installed SH3 Commander you can reapply any add-ons such as the Combined Skin Pack.

As always, please post your questions/feedback/problems to this thread...

Just when you think things can't get any better...

AWOOOOOOOOOOoooo!!!

Just downloaded. Now I have to get home and load it up!

JScones:
Wasn't there discussion at some point about integrating the SH3Weather random weather generator mod into SH3 Commander? I haven't heard anything about that mod lately but I use it and like it.

Dutch 04-09-06 09:14 PM

Ar there any spec released? I've already d/led it, but what are the specs on the Thermal Layers, how exactly do they work?

Dutch 04-09-06 09:28 PM

NM snooped around and found a "guide" to the mod.
