I have a router and use windows firewall, I never opened a port (to be fair, I have not the slightest idea where to find them), and I can host and connect to games. :yep:

If it were disabled then you would have to manually configure which ports to open etc.... |
So if I (we) did'nt select the option Upnp 'on' then its on by default. So how is it enabled and how is it adjusted ?
How come if I have Upnp enabled I can't Host unlike Fish and Ramius ? :hmm: Would Upnp have permitted an unwelcome Trojan found by a very reliable 'eliminator' n SCS Patch 1.03 Beta ? :damn: :arrgh!: Just a little interested, as my system got completely screwed while MPing SC a while back. :hulk: As a result, I remain cynical and a bit choosey about 'unprotected' play !! |
well
i dunno what the problem is but for some reason i can connect to some countries and some other countries cant i dunno why is this hapening....

OK guys, I don't have a router but cannot host when I have another computer directly linked to my computer,
My Adapters.txt file reads: This file contains all adapters found on this system: Network Bridge - IPv4 - 192.168.0.1 Local Area Connection 2 - IPv4 - 58.160.192.236 My dangerouswaters.ini file reads: .HostMultiStationGame No .AllowAllSPs No .TCPDirectQuery Yes .TCPDirectQueryAddress "70.116.144.249" .TCPPort "default" .AdapterName "IPv4" My DxDiag.txt file reads: ------------------- DirectPlay Adapters ------------------- DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider: COM1 DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider: COM2 DirectPlay8 TCP/IP Service Provider: Network Bridge - IPv4 - DirectPlay8 TCP/IP Service Provider: Local Area Connection 2 - IPv4 - and ------------------------- DirectPlay Lobbyable Apps ------------------------- Flight Simulator (DX8) - Registry: OK, ExeFile: FS9.Exe (9.00.0000.30612) LauncherFile: (<File Missing>) FTM (DX7) - Registry: OK, ExeFile: BOS.exe (<File Missing>) Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (DX7) - Registry: OK, ExeFile: FS9.Exe (9.00.0000.30612) So what's wrong with these settings as I sure as hell can't work out why I cannot Host when the other computer is connected to mine. I do not have XP firewall enabled and the IP address shown in the adapters.txt is the correct one identified in "myipaddress.com" I'd really like to have this solved. Thanks in advance. |
Freddo, ive posted a reply to your problem over on the SCS forums.
Hopefully it will work/help you. |
:P Ever dropped one at a party ?
Upnp -''So how is it enabled and how is it adjusted ? '' |

Yep good 'ole Google - she delivered. ''If you cant get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you might just as well know how to kick its arse !!'' Underwhelmed. :yep: ;) |
