S,
I have stated more than once I do not have nor do I know what was in the first X-1 package. I will say there are none of your ships in this upcoming package and now not even the same names with different models. Please tell me any concern and I will be sure to look into it. Wulfmann |
Yes, I was talking about previous X-1 realease.
As to Seawolves: Med, since you asked, I strongly suspect that they still use files from Multi-skin ships mod. It is not difficult to guess with 100% accuracy what will be the answer to that from X-1 people. Therefore, I will wait for the opportunity to inspect the content of corresponding files. Second Flower's skin based on the River texture in Multi-skin warships mod v1.0 http://usx218.fysik.uu.se/users/Sergei/files/Flower.jpg Advertising screenshot of Seawolves:Med http://usx218.fysik.uu.se/users/Serg...es/flower1.jpg Or the use of Southampton mod. When I wondered in the thread http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopi...ght=permission why my mod is in Seawolves:Med, they quickly sent me e-mail saying that it is a placeholder and they will have their own. This can be also checked out later on by expecting the content of the files. And I leave it up to people to judge how ethical or even legal is that to use somebodyelse's work for advertising as part of your own commercial product. Unfortunately, I do not see a change in methods used by X-1 software for the first release. They take a mod and use it until someone points out to that. If no one points out it gets through for sale as it happened with my mods in the first release. |
Wulfmann, on all the Boards the only oneadmitting to have been a "Tester" is you, are there any other Betatester out there who can confirme any of the fact's which are around ? Don't get me wrong i know your position out of your Posts on the various Boards but somehow i get a unibiased view about you and i'm just wondering who else could enlighten us about the any new made mods by X-1
|
Whilst not a beta tester, I've seen the list of contents and conversed earlier on with CombatPlanes.
There's a lot of new ship classes (primarily cruisers and destroyers) which I've never seen modded before. Yes, there's some suspicious sounding inclusions, but some are inclusions that anyone using any of TT's tools could do themselves (ie running decks awash or improved surface detection range out to 10km). From what I've read and seen (albeit only screenshots), it looks quite promising, and whilst I had no interest in the first release for many reasons, I am interested in this release, because let's face it, the default Med can be quite boring. But I stress I have not physically seen any of the files so cannot comment on specific file content. Nor do I know what the proposed new merchants are, which if "borrowed" would prolly be the hardest to hide. I can say though that at this stage I am keeping a totally open mind on this one and indeed will most likely purchase it. But I can still be swayed. FYI the contents of the expansion can be viewed via the CombatPlanes website... http://www.combatplanes.ca/uboat.htm This will be my one and only post on this (potentially contentious) subject. |
I noticed 2 ships of interest from my point of view on that list. The Type 36A (M) and the USS Wasp - read Essex class carrier.
From my Essex Class CFG file found in the roster folder: [UnitClass] ClassName=CVUSSEssexCV9 UnitType=9 AppearanceDate=19421231 DisappearanceDate=19541215 DisplayName=Essex Class [Unit 1] Name=USS Essex DOC=19421231 DOD=19541215 [Unit 2] Name=USS Lexington DOC=19430317 DOD=19470601 [Unit 3] Name=USS Yorktown DOC=19430516 DOD=19681231 [Unit 4] Name=USS Bunker Hill DOC=19430524 DOD=19460101 [Unit 5] Name=USS Wasp DOC=19431124 DOD=19551010 [Unit 6] Name=USS Hornet DOC=19431129 DOD=19460101 |
Maybe it's the first USS Wasp (CV 7), and not the Essex class one. Still, I'd be suspicious if I were you.
BTW - Does anyone have a list of new ships which will be included with Seawolves? |
I thought there was a list at Combat Planes but have never visted the site, LOL; really!
I will relay that Serg. I know they are trying to not have any "accidents" on this. They want to walk the line. Many things can be modded the same way on these things and as long as they make the mod it should be remembered they actually have authorization from UBI to mod and no one else does, officially! However, completely new ground up creation is not a mod of UBI copyrighted stuff and certainly seems like it would be out of bounds. This add on is 20 to 30 times bigger than the first and is always growing. If someone else is beta testing I do not know about it. I really do speak out where I know to but I do not have time for reading many files. Playing is a tough assignment and having fun is also something that must be done! :rotfl: Wulfmann |
Did you all miss the link I posted in my response????

http://www.combatplanes.ca/sh3/arethusa.jpg
Above is a link to the new Arethusa class. This is a new model (I do not have this yet myself and am still using the mod version of the Arethusa) JScones posted the link to the Seawolves project above. Please scutinize it and report back. I checked the Wasp and it is not at all the same file and I have the free 1936 and Seawolves 1936 DD in my nonSeawolves SH3. They are totaly different ships. The X-1 is five single guns. You do realize there were a few variations of that class. Wulfmann |

Please state any other concerns you may have as I believe you have every right to question files that may be yours. You have made many improvements that have benefited the SH3 community including myself and we are all grateful for the generous sharing of your talents. I will continue to point blank ask X-1 on anything that concerns you. Wulfmann |
I should have read the post more carefully at the ubi site if I knew it had something to do with seawolves I would never posted the topic but that cruiser looked so inviting,
