One of the reasons publishers have to be careful about that is that piracy runs rampant in other areas of the world (as you know) and by releasing a high-res DVD cover (200dpi to 300dpi) makes the pirates' lives much easier to simply grab that image and reproduce their own packaging for their pirated materials.
Of course, once the game comes out they usually just buy one legit copy take the insert and scan it in anyway... So it's all sort of a moot point anyway. :P
I still have it on my "list of things to do on the weekend" to make some unofficial DVD/CD covers, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. :oops: |
