Some pics of the Blue Angels...
As far as I know the Blue Angels end their show with some aerobatics in "gear down" instead of "clean" configuration. Since there's more drag and the speed limits go down, it's probably more difficult to fly formation.
It's certainly spectacular... |
very nice but still prefer red arrows
sorry had to get that one in |
@ Marhkimov
Some really nice new movies from a Swiss team who have moved into LOMAC: http://goodies.escapade.ch/videos/psv/psvlovideo.wmv and http://www.patrouille-suisse.net/mod...p=getit&lid=28 :|\ |
Konovalov, if you are interested to join an online squad, and if you are interested to fly red planes then join Red Hammers (http://www.vvs504.co.uk/). They are good and helping fellas.
I am away from LockOn for sometime as I was qute busy with projects at my job. Even I work in my dreams while sleeping :shifty: |
Oombongo,
Thanks m8. I might just do that. |

You should have seen the Angels back in the days when they were flying Phantoms-twice the size and weight of the FA-18, a real b**** to handle and they still made it look easy!
|
I'm kind of wondering if they'll eventually switch to the F/A-18E Super Hornet or the F-35C Naval JSF (when they're in production, of course).
|
Probably.
I mean, they have upgraded in the past before. I guess they'll do it again when the time is right. |
If you've seen one lot 6 airframe, you've seen them all.
Whew! Boy, I mean, those little jewels are OLD. You can tell by the straight COM antennas. Not to mention the DECM antenna. Honestly, those planes are a testament to the plane design. After all the stress they are subjected to, regardless that they are completely stripped of avionics other than their mission computers, COMS, and microfiche nav-maps (WOW THAT'S OLD! HOLY CHRIST!! THEY PROBABLY STILL USE MAG-TAPES!!), it is highly impressive that the frames hold together. Those things must leak hyd fluid like nothing else, but one drop of engine oil, and still grounded. Like I was saying. The engineers did their jobs. The DECM is pittiful poor, but the airframe is strong. Can't break MACH-1 outside of a dive, but it's a strong frame. A worthy successor to the A-10, minus the 30mm depleted uranium shells, of course. Rest in peace. :rotfl: |
Some pics of the Blue Angels...
They fly the planes that are in service, so eventually they'll fly the F 35C... That would be spectacular!
