Ever since I started running in 1280x960 using the method found here..

Same here, I used SH3 in 1280x1024 on a TFT with a 6600GT, 6800Ultra and now with a 7800GTX and never had a problem with the sun glare, it's also visible with 2x,4x,8x AA hard settings in the driver
I think the key to get the sun glare in SH3 while using AA and Nvidia cards, is to use the dll provided in the method to change screen resolution... check it... it works !!!

It tried but it doesn't work for me.

Instead, I'm playing à 1600x1200 and I think I need no more AA :)

Stary Wuj 01-14-06 04:45 AM

It doesn't work for me too.
I just wrote to NVIDIA Support :-)

Please, try a last attempt to make it work properly.

Use the dll provided to change the screen resolution, as explained in my previous post, and then eliminate the software antialiasing by pressing "Shift+Page Down" several times. Now you should be able to see the sun glare properly.

Please, report the results here.

I have 7800GTX OC. 4xAA, 16XAF, running game at 1280x1024 resolution wiuth dx9fix. No problems, here's a pic (with 81.95 drivers, now using 82.12 - The sub is a hi resolution model made by FUBAR - the Crescent is from the Hi REZ MOON Mod).

Also had Mobility Radeon 9700 in my precious Laptop which i used to play SH3, no problems there either ofcourse, but the higher graphics offered (AA & AF with higher reloution) by 7800 GTX make this game truely awesome to look at.

Did that fix it? :o I need to upgrade my video card, and I thought about a cheap 6800 that will run my Win 98 and ME, XP OS systems.

The new ATI are XP only. Thank you Radeon, that is just sweet.

For my older present AGP dual boot system to run legacy games.

I just wonder how much I must sacrifice SH3 to use the Nvidia 6800 card for a final upgrade to my 'multi-play' system.
