*cackles evilly*
Ooh, good little christian boys doth fear their end?
Hehe,
first let me say I don't post this to start a debate but simply to lighten the mood on the Apocalypse. I for one believe in God but I think every religion has gotten the big guy wrong, it seems each different religion has their own views on what 'God' wants. And the bible was told to be written by man, and if God was infallible, why in the world would he leave it to be written by the most treacherous species he ever created?
Furthermore the apocalypse or even purgatory for that matter, they seem unrealistic to me. I believe we all make our own H*ll pardon the word, and a purgatory is what we make our lives on Earth. Heaven and H*ll seem to have been made as a means to control the populace, instead of being arrested. Religion has threatened people with dire consequences in the afterlife. And each says the same, "If you don't join us and accept our view of god and what he wants of you. You're going to hell" at least all that I have seen.
In my life I have been Born Baptist, Raised Prodestine\Presbyterian Converted to Catholicism, Reverted to Morman, practiced Buddhism and dabbled in Wicca.
So what have I gathered from all this? none of them are right. the closest I have learned is Buddhism in which it says all are created equal and within their right to experience whatever they wish, it is up to them what they make of their life. Their choices in life will not change the way their afterlife leads but simply where their current one does. But it is up to them, on them the guilt of their actions is placed. Each man is responsible for being Good or Bad, their actions are not influenced by fear of prosecution for eternity but simply by their own Morales and not thrown at the feet of some deity.
Therefore I find religious prophecies and other such information is propaganda at best. If you disagree that is your right but I only post this here so that others can makeup their own minds about the subject.
God Bless,
Mustang
